TMBG is one of those bands that you will only allow yourself to enjoy if you don't take yourself seriously.  If you never check yourself by saying "why am I listening to something that sounds like this?" they can be a lot of fun.

While this is in no way a compliment towards TMBG since it basically is saying that people will only like them if they ignore all the reasons they'd have for disliking them, the enjoyment that TMBG can give you if you DO ignore their shortcomings is genuine and I can't fault them for that.

In other words, they're not very good, but if you can get past that they're a lot of fun.  You know, like punk rock.
