Halo 3

neomang5:
Not to be the downer here, but I wasnt that impressed. Sure the graphics are really nice, and it looks like there might be an actual ending this time, but other than that I got nothing from it. I dont really read the books, so all I got for the storyline is fragmented images of Cortana, and the fact that "This is how the world ends."

Seriously, after Halo 2, this is going to have to show MASSIVE potential to turn me back onto the franchise. Maybe I'll be impressed after seeing some in-game footage and features for the gameplay, but until then, it's just another big-name game I have little faith in.

Storm Rider:
OK, I hate to be the wet blanket, but the game isn't going to look like that. That's a cinematic scene, and the actual gameplay won't look nearly that good.

Not to mention that the trailer tells you NOTHING about the game. Nada. We see Master Chief in high definition and some spaceships, and that's fucking it.

This was practically Microsoft's entire friggin' E3, and the game won't even be out for at least a year. I am supremely unimpressed.

Then again, I've always thought Halo was way overrated.

I'll wet the blanket even more by saying that I couldn't even get through the first Halo.  It felt like every other space-type game I'd ever played, except duller.  When Halo 2 came out I had absolutely no desire to check it out.  All this buzzing about Halo 3 is just totally zooming over my head.

Ozymandias:
Here's the straight skinny on Halo:

As a console FPS, it's alright. It's not particularly special as a game, but its fun enough and multiplayer is pretty good. It's mediocre in the grand scheme of games, though(I can name at least 10 better FPSes off the top of my head), and vastly overhyped.

As a story, though, it's one of the more intelligent and interesting works of sci-fi in recent years. However, none of that is in the games, it's pretty much all in the books. It's like if someone made a Lord of the Rings video game, and all it was about was Aragorn wandering around before he meets Frodo. It's almost depressing, because there's so much potential for real awesome and so little of it shines through.

Chesire Cat:
What console FPS has better Multiplayer than Halo 2.

Taking into account, how awesome Battlefield 2:Modern Combat is, they dont exactly compare too well, both very different kinds of games.  Is anything else comparable?
