Halo 3
Kai:
Timesplitters 2 had my favorite multiplayer on a console EVER.
messeduplilkid:
Well I suppose its rebuttle time, and I stright out didnt wana turn this into a "fan boy arguement".
Storm Rider: Actaully, the trailer did alot of things that you might not have noticed. Not to mention the Bungie FAQ comfirmed and gave alot of information on the trailer.
The trailer was done with the ingame engine. After the conference, they took press and had Master Chief running through the level. They explain that in the FAQ. (if you've seen Gears of War, its entirely possible to run that high a level of beauty in-game on the 360)
Also, the trailer tells you a great deal about the story. They are on Earth (confirmed), the Covenant are there for the Arc (again in my first post). Cortana is speaking crazy prophetic nonsense (again, theories from my first post).
Halo might not be your deal, but with a bit more information, the trailer makes a bit more sense.
Est: I'm really sorry it didnt tickle your fancy at all, its a shame because they improved and fixed alot of things that were wrong with Halo: Combat Evolved. If your ever bored and you got an Xbox, I hope you give it a chance.
Ozymandias: a bit relative on whats better or worse. I think the books and the game compliment each other very well. But again my opinion is just that, an opinion.
Anyway, I hope some other halo fans come into the thread and throw their theories up in here, I'm kinda lonely.
*edit* woot, people came and fought with me! yay!
+1/+1 and First Strike to Chesire Cat!
Catfish_Man:
I'm pretty interested in Halo 3. Honestly I think most of the people that don't like Halo don't like it *as an FPS game*. I don't play FPSs, so its comparative merit to [game] doesn't matter to me much. I kinda like the story, and I liked just messing around in the game. Multiplayer never caught my attention as much. As such, my single request for Bungie:
NETWORK COOP MODE PLZ
--- Quote from: Ozymandias ---It's like if someone made a Lord of the Rings video game, and all it was about was Aragorn wandering around before he meets Frodo. It's almost depressing, because there's so much potential for real awesome and so little of it shines through.
--- End quote ---
What are you talking about. That would rock. For example: sneaking into Minus Morgul, alone, as Aragorn.
--- Quote from: messeduplilkid ---+1/+1 and First Strike to Chesire Cat!

...
fine game and all, but ...

--- Quote from: Catfish_Man ---NETWORK COOP MODE PLZ

I could yell that about basically every game I've played, ever. I absolutely love co-op mode games.
Ozymandias:
--- Quote from: Chesire Cat ---What console FPS has better Multiplayer than Halo 2.
Taking into account, how awesome Battlefield 2:Modern Combat is, they dont exactly compare too well, both very different kinds of games. Is anything else comparable?
--- End quote ---
Like Kai said, Timesplitters 2 was pretty sweet. Free Radical (when they were part of Rare) also made Goldeneye/Perfect Dark which also qualify as better, IMO.
I didn't get so specific as to say multiplayer console FPSes though. That's a pretty narrow field to explore to call Halo the best at something.
