Things We Lost In The Fire is absolutely incredible. I've had it on my computer for a while, and listened to it a couple of times, but actually paying more attention to it now... Wow... I'm going to go pick it up within the next week for sure.

Whitetail sort of ruins the start of the album for me. It is just so languid. Or it would were it not for the absolute class of Sunflower. A strong contender to the best Low song along with (That's How You Sing) Amazing Grace.

Therion - Trul

So far this is my favorite song on the new album.

Has a nice folky feel to it with some good vocals and just has a nice mood to it.

The Eagles- Wasted Time

Just remembering what good bass lines The Eagles had. I know they have a pretty bad reputation as typical classic rock radio fodder, but fuck, The Eagles can write a song. The melodies, the vocal harmonies, so good.

I used to hate Lazer Beam but I cant listen to the album without that song now.

This is actually the first Meshugga album I have ever owned (but not the first one I've heard). I have determined it to be definately worth the purchase; I should have listened to this band right off the bat instead of wasting time with A Life Once Lost before...

Yo La Tengo - Sugarcube

Picked up a couple of CDs (this one, "I Can Hear The Heart...", and the "I Will Beat Your Ass" one because the name amused me) based on how popular they seem to be 'round these parts and it certainly all sounds pretty impressive.

I think I said that Our Endless Numbered Days is my Frieday afternoon album. I love this song.

Brilliant song, that and "Naked As We Came" are the highlights of the CD IMO.

Double Leopards - A Hole is True

I was really excited about this one but it just doesn't grab me at all. Maybe I catched these drone-freaks on a bad day or something. I should have bought Halve Maen but instead I let my wallet rule. It is not the worst thing I have bought, that would be Charalambides - Unknown Spin which is basically an hour of moaning and someone screwing about with a guitar.

the album 'the unbelievable cinematic crash' by sweek. brilliant post rock band from belgium (i think). as far as the genre goes this is one of my favorite cds. epic, brilliant stuff and well worth checking out for any instrumental fans.

Slowdice - Souvlaki ("Alison")

I've actually never made it more than 2 songs into this album without falling asleep. I'm really not sure why, it certainly doesn't sound boring (quite enjoying it) and it's no more sleep-enducingly relaxing than say, My Bloody Valentine. I guess it's just 'cos I seem to choose to listen to it late at night or something.

Anyway, even though it's 6.30 am and I haven't slept yet, I'm determined to make it through this time.

Think of whatever festival or uni campus or street in your town where you find people of all ages and ambitions and backgrounds going about their business without any issues or bitchyness. Think of all these people, the streets and the surroundings being happy and kinda hopeful. Express that through glitchy electronics and samples.

It sounds bizarre as all hell but some of my fondest memories from the first semester at uni that year were walking home in the early evening after it had just rained and everything had that sparkly just-rained cleanness to it and Love was in my walkman.

This song is amazing, from the effect on Vorph's vocals to the guitar tone, everythings perfect. Some of the best lyrics I've heard.
