Metalcore = Hardcore metal?

Well, there is quite a difference.
People would be annoyed if you called the Beatles a blues band.

that's correct.
metalcore is that really lame hardcore where the riffs sound just a LITTLE too complicated for the vocals, and it ALWAYS sounds horrible.
