1) TV On the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain

Are they good? They are coming to dallas soon and I would like to know if it is worth the drive.

The Aussie band who did 'Under The Milky Way Tonight' in the 80s? If so, that's ace that they're still going!
Don't have much of a list myself...
J-Dilla - 'Donuts' (schizophrenic hip-hop instrumentals... incredibly progressive and baffling... probably the post-humous 'The Shining' will be on the list by the time the year is out, but I have to wait for next pay to pick it up)
Mapstation - 'Distance Told Me Things To Be Said' (subdued Kluster / early Tangerine Dream arpeggio action with occasional hints at dub)
Dabrye - 'Two / Three' (Ann Arbor techno nerd comes back with his 3rd hip-hop album and for better or worse brings a truck load of MCs. less consistent, primarily thanks to some of the raps, but amazingly far reaching sounds and all up ... rad)
Junior Boys - 'So This Is Goodbye' (soppy synthpop.. the 2-step inspired beats are gone but there's still a nice, forward-looking aesthetic and it has the best Sinatra cover ever)
Cartilage Head:
The Dresden Dolls-Yes,Virginia.
MY MIND,SHE CANNOT BE CHANGED.
Will:
To all of you besides myself who listed the new Dresden Dolls: did any of you think that it wasn't as powerful as the self-titled album? I still love the new album, but it just kinda has this weird vibe that it gives me, almost to where lyrically Amanda just wrote around loose concepts and turned them into songs, where in the ST, it seemed more personal? There's something about the new one that I just can't put my finger on; it's not exactly a "sophmore slump" but it feels like something's lacking...

That came out this year? Well that's definitely on my list then...
oh and also Kaki King - Until We Felt Red
