2006 Albums Discussion

Praeserpium Machinarum:
About The Dresden Dolls, I never heard the first one so I can't say but Yes, Virginia does have weak points. There is some subpar songs such as Delilah and a few other quiet ones. As far as I am concerned they are best when they are doing manic cabaret-rock.

vivouk:
Frightened Rabbit- The Greys followed by Guillemots- Through The Windowpane.

The others are too close to rank just yet.

Also MOTHERFUCKIN Aereogramme album coming in October.

I like the lack of Arctic Monkeys. What I can't understand is the inclusion of Matisyahu.

It's been a lean year. Most of the albums I've anticipated so far have been disappointments, and ones I've bought from the eighties or nineties have been great.

Crossing my fingers for Dylan.

This is no excuse for having Matisyahu in your list and not having TVOTR.

I think a good excuse would be 'I don't listen to that band.'

Narr:
I second the RHCP Stadium Arcadium bid.

I suppose I haven't really picked up anything produced this year, other than that and the new Pearl Jam album (which I enjoyed, but seems like a lot of other people didn't).

The new Audioslave album comes out in like a week and I'm looking forward to it.  I liked the new single off it anyway.

1) TV On the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain

Are they good? They are coming to dallas soon and I would like to know if it is worth the drive.

Definitely worth it. I'm seeing them for the second time this year. Check out the new album to see if it's your thing. Desperate Youth and Bloodthirsty Babes is also a great album.
