--- Quote from: jcknbl ---1. Man Man- Six Demon Bag (No, Seriously)
2. Danielson- Ships
3. be your own PET- S/t (I predict this opinion will be derided by British forum goers but ignored by American ones.)
4. Liars- Drums Not Dead
5. Herbert- Scale

--- End quote ---

As far as be your own PET is concerned I think that is a wonderful album. Musically it is genius, my only real problem with it is some of Jemina's lyrics... otherwise a great album.
I second Danielson's album.. not much of his stuff had really grabbed me but Ships for some reason begs me to listen to it over and over.

anyway beyond this point there be lists

No particular order
1. Be your own PET -- s/t
2. Danielson - Ships
3. Neil Young - Living with war
4. Gnarls Barkley - St. Elsewhere
5. Beruit - Gulag Orkestar
6. El Pero Del Mar - s/t
7. Camera Obscura - Lets get out of this country
8. Sufjan Stevens - Avalanche

hmm ok thats a top 8 I guess because I can't think of anything else right now.. I'm almost sure Dylans album will make it on this list and there are likely a few others coming out that will bump some of the ones listed to honorable mentions ...

Skittish:
I'm surprised it took this long for someone to say Gnarls Barkley.

Good call on Camera Obscura, by the way.

Also I'd include The Replacements comp Don't you know who I think I was ... but it's a comp so I don't see that as fair... besides it's the Replacements and frankly it's hard to beat any of their albums much less a comp of their best.

oh man, I can actually play this game this time.

Here's my top ten, but I don't think I can put them into a strict order.  I've kind of ranked them, but my tastes vary with mood a lot, and I'm not really as fanatical about music as some of you folks.

- The Knife, Silent Shout
- TV on the Radio, Return to Cookie Mountain
- The Gossip, Standing in the way of control
- Tiga, Sexor
- Ellen Allien & Apparat, Orchestra of bubbles
- Mates of State, Bring it back
- Camera Obscura, Let's get out of this country
- Junior Boys, So this is goodbye
- Lily Allen, Alright Still
- Ratatat, Classics

I have a few of the other albums you guys have mentioned, but haven't listened to them enough yet to say whether or not I really like them.
