Actually, mine is a free account too.  Don't actually have a home yet, but I'm making enough from selling animations to rent a little shop, and last night I wasted a lot of time happily decorating it.  If business picks up, I might start renting an apartment.

I just uninstalled this because I realised that all I was doing every day was wandering the freebie yards looking for better skins and clothing and hanging around money trees looking for cash.

For some reason I didn't feel like I was good enough to interact with other people that had decent avatars, but I didn't have enough money to upgrade my avatar to the point where I felt like I could.  I am pretty sure this is intended, and is one of the driving factors in getting people to spend money.

Also, other than talking to random people I couldn't really find anything else to do in the game that didn't involve some kind of gambling or porn.  Is there actually anything else to do?  Even the Slingo stuff that is all over the place is basically gambling.  It looked like the most fun thing, so I tried playing last night but then quit in disgust halfway through when the lag was so bad that I'd missed 3 out of 10 of the rounds.

pfft, if I was waiting to upgrade my avatar before interacting with people, I'd never talk to anyone.  I set my appearance when I first joined, and haven't changed it since.  Well, other than occasionally gags then when I turn into Snoopy.

And yeah, I haven't bothered hitting any casinos or clubs because I just know it'll get so laggy my computer will crash.

I think that the thing is that even though I joined with the intention of creating things I couldn't really be bothered learning how to create things.  I mean, I created a big textured sphere that looked like it rotated, but that's about it.

money schmoney. i havent been in posession of a single L$ since i started playing and i've been having fun. and i've only interacted with 2 or 3 people. and they started talking to me, anyway. i've just been learning the building and scripting systems and making stuff to amuse myself. i made a samurai sword for my avatar to hold one in each hand and i made one of those japanese thatched rain hats. besides that i've been coding really stupid stuff like a cube that launches in a huge arc away from you when you touch it and junk like that just to get the hang of it all.

i tend to avoid those really populated areas because my computer would shit the bed if i tried to hang out in one for too long.
and what exactly is a money tree? is it an actual tree that gives money?
i dunno, never heard of it.
