It's by Bob Seger and I like it. In fact, I'd say that almost every cover on that album I like better than the original, with the exception of "Astronomy" by Blue Oyster Cult, and a few others.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers' cover of "Havana Affair" is definitely better than the Ramones' original, but the Ramones sucked, so it's not a daunting task to do something better than they did. 

It pisses me off when people hate the Chili Peppers.  People who hate the Chili Peppers have no reason to hate them.
