McTaggart:
TA (and I assume SupComm too) is all about managing rates. You just have to watch the rate of your resources coming in and keep the rate you're using them as high as possible without going too far into the red for too long. Hoarding will get you nowhere (and metal makers are the best things ever for making sure that your balance is nice, have a bunch of them and toggle them to maximise your metal output when you have excess energy income). I just spent all my money on a shiny shiny laptop so my budget's not stretching far enough to pick up a copy but I'll be leaving the demo downloading overnight and hopefully getting pretty seriously into it.

Switchblade:
got it, played it, love it.

The campaign mode's good, but it really comes alive in skirmish mode.

Fact is, these aren't "skirmishes", these are gargantuan wars across entire continents. thousands of troops, ships and planes clash and annihilate each other, and it's rare for the few survivors of these battles to have the numbers and power left over to hope to overcome the massive defensive networks around the enemy base.

plus, it has dual-monitor support, allowing you to throw a tactical map up on your second screen for the sake of maintaining a complete battlefield overview. Awesome stuff.

plus, the explosions are purdy.

Got it, Love it, only one thing I utterly hate about it...

Normally get around 2 frames per second when there's more than 100 units around, my beloved AthlonXP compy may well be taken out to a field and shot as I have schemed to do many a time... but not after I have a new compy... does remind me of TotalA alot, since I had the exact same issues with my first PC, and Totala multiplayer, which meant I couldn't enjoy Boneyards at all for the short amount of time it was around :/
