it means if you can't reach oink.me.uk, it's because their domain name has been suspended. and it isn't because it's overdue for renewal.

People have been having trouble connecting to the site intermittently over the last couple of weeks. The staff are investigating but stale's whois suggests that The Man has intervened and pinched off their internet tubes somehow.

Quick fix for those who can't get on the site:

c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts

open in notepad

add:

85.17.40.71 oink.me.uk
85.17.40.69 tracker.oink.me.uk
85.17.40.70 irc.oink.me.uk

Thanks amok, that was helpful.

Even if nominet spiked oink's dns (to parrot the lingo from the threads) it's apparently nothing that couldn't be fixed by a move to another domain.  DO NOT PANIC.

A possibly easier way to do this would be to just type http://85.17.40.71/ into your browser.

The tracker might not still work (for the bittorrents), but you can at least get to the site.

I had a dream where I was at a Dairy Queen staff meeting and they told me that I had to be let go for budgetary reasons. I asked if I could still get a reference and they answered enthusiastically, saying it would be fairly good. I thanked them for the experience and we parted ways.

This was the entire dream.

Also, I once had a dream that I was swimming through a water-filled tunnel.  I came out at this small dimly-lit room where there was a bed and a cupboard.  The bed was covered with water, but I climbed up on top of the cupboard in order to get out of the water & rest.
