Wiki claims it's a secret service agent. *shrug* Shouldn't he be in black? There is the sound of a siren of some sort, I want to speculate that it could be the siren of a prison as they let out the Dudes.

And of course Karnov. What I didn't get a grab off was a sign for a bar entitled "Karnov's" that was in the background at some point. Wiki pointed out that the boss melody contains a little bit of the Karnov song. I didn't realize this but I can catch it now. Worked in quite well. Also, a reminder, the Dudes can power up.

Somehow, our Dudes are BAD enough to never get sliced up by helicopter rotors. I think that would be an interesting finish. Have the end boss get sliced up by his own chopper.

Total play time is like less than 20 minutes if you fill it up with enough credits. I was going slow to take snap shots. I guess some exposition can be included on Karnov. Wiki claims: "The NES instruction manual claims the reason Karnov is working with the "ninjas" is a mystery."

Fleshing out:
Well, backstory on Karnov - Karnov is an agent of the divine sent to earth. That's from the original japanese intro. However, in America he is Jinborov Karnovski and is a firebreathing circus strongman seeking treasure. Perhaps this can be reconciled.
The Bad Dudes, well, I had suggested they may have been in prison with the backdrop of the secret service agent. Perhaps it could be a Snake Pliskin esque deal. The US government uses their own incarcerated bad asses to take out the "bad ass" dragon ninjas.
Dragon Ninjas... why kidnap Reagan (or apparently George Bush sr. in the NES version)? I got it. Presidential sacrifice. The Ninjas have always been about assassination, this time there's a legacy that when the blood of the world's most powerful man is spilled, something big and awesome happens.
