Brazil Vs. 1984
Luke C:
I havn't seen Brazil but I think for the time the 1984 film was pretty good. I think it would be amazing if they made another, modern version.
Brazil is on my list of films to see since I quite like the whole dystopian genre and I havn't seen/read enough of it.

Robert De Niro really wanted to play the part of Sam Lowri, but the part had been promised to Jonathan Pryce, Robert De Niro wanted to be in the film so badly that they had to pencil in Harry Tuttle for him.

Hmmm, I read (or heard...is it mentioned in the documentary on the DVD?) that he wanted to play Jack Lint but that had already been promised to (and written for) Michael Palin.
Also, Brazil basically is another, modern version of 1984. With added Samurai. And tubes. Lots of tubes.

Fact: Brazil is my mom's most hated movie.
"It was boring. All I remember is that it was ridiculous, stupid and had lots of pipes."
I think she was just bitter, she saw it when my dad took her on a date. He loved it, naturally.
Brazil is the better movie, hands down.
