I used to really love it! But it has gotten so...stupid :/ The whole Zack-ordeal was just an epic fail (one of the biggest I've seen on TV, I think), the Booth-shooting was so completely rushed and unnecessary (it didn't lead to anything else than 5 minutes of pissed off Brennan, and a situation where Sweets should've gotten fired) and the Hodgins/Angela-breakup? What the fuck was that? No wonder he didn't trust her, she literally jumped her long lost husband and kissed him, instead of, you know, telling him she wanted the divorce immediately. Plus, the break-up convo was lame.
My brother and I did a marathon of the first three seasons this summer, and the decline was so obvious it hurt. It used to be a wonderful show, really, but now they keep saying it's a "comedy", but all the best episodes have been when they deal with serious stuff, and they still do deal with serious stuff, it just seems like they don't want to.. Booth has become a cartoonish version of himself (the cocky belt buckle was funny one or two episodes, now it's just old. The bath tub scene in the finale - wtf? He acted like a complete idiot in the London-episode. The guy is a former Ranger and/or sniper, for God's sake, you'd think he was aware of other cultures and was able to show some respect - he used to be, at least. Also, the whole I-want-the-dead-guy's-chair-thing? There was a time where Booth would actually care about the fact that a fellow agent died, instead of getting his goddamn chair), Brennan's characterization is just all over the place, the romantic element has gotten annoying with all the anvils they've thrown at us (it used to be more subtle and we could see that they had chemistry, but at some point, they started to feel they had to tell us, which sucks.
It's like the showrunners don't even know what they want the show to be, and it feels like they're severly underestimating the intelligence of the viewers. Another huge problem is that things happen, but then they just seem to be forgotten by the next episode, except for the fucking annoying things, like the "lost husband" of Angela, who she by the way was reminded of in season 1, only to forget again before the wedding in season 2. The Christmas kiss, while I didn't like how it came about, might maybe want to be adressed? The showrunners keep saying, in interviews, that it shook things up for them etc, but we haven't seen the slightest hint at that. The grave digger? Hodgins seemed completely shook up, understandably so, by the end of the episode, but then everyone just forgot about the whole incident (or so it seems, for now).
...and despite all of this, I still watch :p Hoping it'll improve, and because I'm slightly invested in it.. The dog-episode this year was a step up (I had nitpicks, but they weren't major ones), but then the next one didn't deliver. Sure, there are moments when it's not half bad, but there are too many things that annoy the fuck out of me.
