Judging by the lyrics, the song was not written a week later. It talks about the war in Iraq, and ramping up the hate on Iran. This was clearly written in the last couple of years.
Secondly, the cry of 'Everybody do the post 9-11 dance' is irony. The concept of a 'dance' is pretty clearly a conceit aimed at Bush and Blair and co. The post 9-11 dance is what you do when you exaggerate and appropriate the threat posed by Islamic terrorism to justify going to war for oil and all that, and imposing harsh draconian 'anti-terror' law-enforcement measures (hence the reference to 'doing you like Brazilians' in the chorus). The song is pretty obviously not telling people to 'forget about 9/11 and dance like it never happened', it's criticizing those who take part in the 'dance' of the people who have used the idea of a 'post 9-11 world' to pursue their own ends.
qiZzer:
The intention of the song seem to criticize the fact that the government is becoming authoritarian and using an event that happened in the past to judge to justify more extreme control and justify new methods of control that said its still tasteless delivery , I mean a dance song is not a good forum for social commentary and with lyrics like "I farted and got arrested for a chemical attack" its no wonder people found it offensive.
