you look great with short hair! i say something short. admittedly i am biased because i think more girls should have short hair... but since you have had short hair before anyway i'm guessing you've already gotten past the initial irrational "OH MAN NO WAY I'LL TOTALLY LOOK LIKE A BOY" fear. so my vote is short, something like the bottom left picture i guess.

Jimmy, there is a picture of you somewhere on here where you are with a lady.  It would be sorta creepy for me to go searching, so I will ask here: Is her hair Special Effects Fishbowl?  Because I love that color.  I used it recently in what has become a scientific experiment.

Yeah it's called Ephanage or Efanage or something like that. As far as I know you can get it from salons or hairdressing suppliers but it isn't commercially available.

Short hair, beard.

Seconded. Maybe just keep it trimmed up a bit so it doesn't get to the really scruffy stage.

Also in the picture for medium length hair you look like a television anchorman from the 1970s. It amuses me greatly.

Umm, I was thinking I could do a faux hawk?
http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m166/SnuggleSean/lmaohaircut.jpg
Should I keep it messy or hawk it? I mean, I just got a haircut recently, it used to be rather shaggy.

But yeah also wondering if I should do some color? I want something rather 'out there' but I also don't want to regret it when it grows out and my roots are all brownish against whatever odd color I make it. Suggestions? Waste of internet space?

I think you should get the corrective surgery first.  Fix that strabismus, then we'll talk about the hair.

And hellyeah color!  I recommend bluey greeny.

Is it really that obvious my eyes don't point the same direction? lol I thought that by crossing them on purpose I could hide it slightly... I plan on getting that worked on sometime in the future, but it's not a short term goal. Most people don't actually notice it unless they look really hard at my eyes. But I'd go for a bluish green, that sounds pretty cool.

haha first post

Just thought I'd let you know if you're gonna dye it
Make sure you bleach it so it's bright (:
also, blue fades the fastest so you'll have to dye often.
Mine started fading about 2 or 3 weeks in ):

But blue (the blue I have anyway) also fades to a really pretty color. Mine went straight up cerulean in like two weeks. That is actually my favorite color! It was a teal or turquoise after about a month when I re-did it. Now it's a dark indigo again. So uh, blue is pretty rad if you're a person who enjoys changing your hair often.

A seemingly well educated hair stylist explained to me that red actually fades the fastest of all colors, because of the size of the color, uh, molecule, I guess?  Black is supposed to last the longest; that would place blue somewhere in the middle.

My ladyhalf does hairdressing at tafe and it is an incredibly chemisty heavy course. Aside from needing to know the ph levels of all the hair products so you know how much it is going to help or harm the hair there's a whole lot about the chemical make up of colours so you know how to mix them properly and which colours to use to hide other colours. It's all very and surprisingly complicated and I barely have any idea what she's saying when she is telling me these things.

I have to get my hair cut and it's turning into a weird curly mullet at the back. Besides I will really have to get it cut before the end of the term break. My high school is very strict about these things.

your highschool is a BITCH leave it. if it's turning into a mullet thing, cut some off the back. go into a supercuts, tell them you want it less mullet-ish and maybe a little bit less unruly, but don't cut it short.

Yep, just trim the back up a bit so you avoid mullet-dom and keep the rest long-ish. As it has already been pointed out, most girls love guys with curly hair, so keeping the length will help you out in the love department.

Thread resurrection, blah blah. Anyway. I need a bit of help. I managed to fix the cut situation but I need to dye my hair again and I don't quite know what to do with it. I had it red, which was awesome, but I got bored with it so I dyed it brown. The brown didn't work properly so it's still a lot more red than I wanted it.

So I don't know whether I should try dying it black, or a really dark brown. The problem I have with the brown is that it'll fade, and no doubt the red will come back. The problem with the black is that it's black, it's harsh, and I haven't had it black in years. I'm torn.

Don't do black! It'll be too dark for you. Maybe add some bright red streaks to your fringe or other bits.

I am in need of a hairstyle but I have no idea what I can do to my hair to make it awesome.

I want it a similar length (this length is pretty much perfect, although I don't mind it a bit longer). Last time I tried to explain to the hairdresser what I wanted I ended up shaving myself bald because I looked like Spock (I do not want to look like Spock, guys). Halp?

Dan, I think go with a gentle classic fairly spiky fringe, pushed into a side parting, ish... the back and sides relatively short in comparison.

Yeah, i think you should definitely try the whole emo swoop bangs to the side, minus the emo.
Because the whole fringe straight down looks a little passé and not really in any more :/

in other news, I want to do something new with my hair.

i don't want length taken off, and i just re-dyed it like two weeks ago.

Your hair looks very cute to me, and it is shiny and healthy.

You could add some layers if you want it to flip out or down.  If you want it to flip out, the top layer should be the longest.  If you want it to flip under, the top layer will be the shortest.  To blend the layers make diagonal cuts.  That way you don't have to change much length, but you still get that kicky feeling of "hey! I did something new with my hair!"

I know you want to keep the length, but I really think you could pull off shorter hair! The current length isn't doing much for your face shape, short would be so happy for nicer weather coming up!
I'm voting either pixie cut with longish bangs, or slightly longer like this

So, guys, I'm going to get my hair cut and possibly dyed soon.  This is probably the most accurate picture of what my hair does--I can get it smoother with products and straighteners; mousse and scrunch / dry will give me pretty decent curls.  But this is it basically left to its own devices, which I figure is probably better for "will this work?" questions (forgive the ridiculous shades, which were the intended focus of the picture).

I'm thinking I want a shorter cut, with the shortest (outer) layers about at mid-ear level and the longest (inner) layers ending just below my chin.  I'm also considering dyeing it a dark brown.  Something like this, I guess:

Is this a good / bad idea?  Do you guys have better ideas?  I'd generally be up for wild and crazy suggestions, but I'm leaning toward the could-pass-for-a-more-conservative-look side of things, 'cause I'm interviewing at grad schools over the next month.

I think that cut would work well with your hair's natural texture, but I think it'd look better side-parted slightly with maybe swoopy fringe.

iawtc, middle parts look good on almost no one.  They also make your nose look big when it's a straight middle part.  now zig-zag middle is different.
but I'd say if you do that but part it zig-zag part to the left or right it would give you a lot of texture and it would be fun to make your own. and it would probably compliment your face shape well that way.
