Ugh. Mom is going to make me get a trim before this weekend. They always fuck up my hair when I go to get 'trims'. I think myself and mom's definition of trim is different. So.. advice?

Dude my advice is to go get your hair cut before your mom takes you to get it cut. The you can choose the length and such and also show your mom you're capable of getting shit done by yourself in future.

Taylorrrrrr, if you don't like your hair colour then I vote for going back to a dark purple/dark red or even a dark brown. I liked the red on you, but think it would look better a bit darker. I am not sure light blonde would work and black is a bit too harsh.

I say go back to the dark colours. It really suits your skin colour. I used to be blonde and have gone through red, purple, dark dark dark brown and am sitting at a natural chocolate brown now. I had trouble making my blonde hair look clean and shiny all the time, despite washing it every two or three days. I do the same with my dark hair - looks wonderfully shiny all the time. Also suits pale skin. I would suggest not going too dark though, makes regrowth more obvious and bleh.

Yes. Even though it's a fairly regulation haircut you'd probably look pretty good with the short-on-the-sides-slightly-longer-on-the-top-muss-it-up-with-some-product look.

I need a hair cut pretty badly, my layers are essentially all grown out, which makes my hair very flat on top.

I've done that before, but only when I trusted the hairstylist. I ended up with a hipper version of the haircut I already had and with some tricks she told me, it looked very good.

Well hey there Daz. Yeah, my hair is fine as all hell, and golly is there a lot of it. That's a valid point on the eyebrows thing, but thing is, there exists such a thing as eyebrow pencil, and you can even dye your eyebrows if you are thus inclined .

Guys, my hair is pretty long now. My avatar is not representive of this fact. It kind of is curling up at the bottom, but I don't know if thats my drying habits or the fact that I sweat. I don't know whether to cut it or not. I like it a bit longer.

I'll see if I can get some pictures in a bit to add to this.

Jimmy: I just might do that. The only thing is, pretty much if I argue with her, she takes away the computer and Playstation and that rather sucks. Last night, I complained how shitty my haircut looked and then she was all like, "I'll fix it!" which I took to mean, 'I'll shave it all off.' So I'm like, "No!" and she's like, "Don't you say no to me, young man!" etc etc.

Haha, if I had the facial hair power I would totally do that. I don't think I'd considered mini either. I'm only 6'1".

But...
Mom trimmed up the back a bit and made it less mullet-y and it looks better than before but still not as good as it did. If that made any sense.

Midnight Umbreon, letting people cut your hair that don't usually cut hair takes a lot of courage.

If you really don't like it, you could basically buzz cut it (2 all around, so you're not actually bald, but it's not really there anymore). I did that once thinking 'how much worse can it get?' and I actually quite liked the result. It's also prety refreshing.

DISCLAIMER: not recommended if you live in cold environments.

Well, I'm used to fighting dragons and whatnot. So I'm used to it.
But it's not as bad as it could be. I'll stick with it and let it grow out more and try to avoid a haircut in the future.

If your parents still decide your haircuts at 14, you might as well let them wipe your ass and spoon feed you. Talk to your parents in a calm and rational manner to ensure this never happens again. Also, what're they gonna do if you refuse to get a haircut? Force you to live on the streets? Going a while with no computer or videogames ain't a thing.

It's also a lot to ask. It's easy to be rational with your 'rents until they say no for the first time. Then rational quickly becomes whining and getting angry. Remain calm and state your case or you'll get nowhere.

So I have an issue. Any time my hair reaches a certain length, I chop it all off. Well, my hair is nearing that point again, and I would like some creative insight before I give up and just chop my hair down to an inch in length (yes, I have done this before).
I have also dyed my hair before, and am looking to again. So far I have done dark red, darker red with ash blonde highlights, and just plain brunette with really chunky blonde highlights.

For reference, here are two semi-recent pictures of myself. Note that I rarely wear glasses any more, as I now have contacts. And you are not able to tell from the photos, but I have really pale blue-grey eyes, if that helps with dying recommendations.

So that's about the gist of my hair. I am wondering if I should go back to the very short (I'm talking marine-esque) haircut that I had before growing it. Or should I get the back trimmed (as has been the advice to me) and just let it grow more? Or do something completely different?

You should probably dry it and then take another picture. You mentioned in meebo that you prefer how your hair looks wet and that's obviously only going to be how it looks for about an hour any given day. Any style advice should be given in reference to what it looks like dry, since that'll be the default mode for it.

Unless you carry a spray bottle and give it a few squirts every half-hour or so. That's what I'd recommend, I guess. OR USE SOME PRODUCT TO MAKE IT LOOK WET.

I do like how it looks wet, by the way. I think it's fun-looking hair.

I wish mine only looked wet for an hour or so after I showered. It takes mine at least three to four to look dry, and I like the way it looks dry much better (I've got really wavy hair, when it gets wet every hair does it's wave independently). I really need to get a blow-dryer.

I do second the hair product suggestion, it does look good wet.

This doesn't help you any, but your post is reminding me of what happened to one girl in highschool. When the hairdresser asked how she wanted her hair cut, she said she wanted an inch. She meant to cut it by an inch, but they cut it down to an inch. lol
