Also this flickr has tons of awesome sweet haircuts:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/hairport_lisbon/

oh my god i've been looking through here for about an hour and a half, and there are so many rad haircuts but they're all really short.

I don't want to lose too much length on it 'cause i've been trying to grow it out for a while, and i think i might keep the shavey for a while yet 'cause i dyed it red and i actually hate it a lot less now that it has a decent colour to it.

also i do have a fringe i've just taken to pinning it out of the way when it's having bad days.

and lunchy i think "punkdorable" is my new favourite word.

eta: omgomgomg omg http://www.flickr.com/photos/hairport_lisbon/3063783023/ i want that one oh mannn

Why would you want a mullet? Is it because you're a lesbian? Do lesbians like mullets?

If he won't, I certainly would.

Lunchy thankyou! I feel fully validated, also I discussed with the mother & she produced a wig for me to wear to work to look sensible! Sometimes my Ma is so awesome it hurts.

If it is our Andy that Gemm is talking about.

I like the fringe.

Gemm, you look awesome. Very pretty. Also, if your fringe doesn't often want to do what you want it to, have you tried threatening it with a straightener? Back when I had shortish hair, and recently now that I've got fringe, I used a straightener often to keep my fringe perfect.

Also, so, I've been growing my hair out for awhile. It's currently just past my shoulders. Lately I've been itching to shave it back down to how I used to keep it. Any thoughts?

I probably liked it best when it was like this

But I don't know. I bought some reddish dye tonight.

I really really liked your old hair. Do it!

I am having the same troubles, I am finding I hate my hair now that it is finally grown out and want to chop it off again. But maybe I will like it later! Oh I don't know. I don't have the money these days to get haircuts every 6 weeks anyway.

I've been getting urges to just buzz off my hair down to the minimum to avoid sunburned scalp, but I look pretty bad with that kind of haircut. When I get my hair to about the longest I might want it to be, I might post it in here for ideas.

Oh okay riiiight.

Hair colouring time! I am considering going auburn again because I really liked it. However my boyfriend is ginger and I feel I would look silly with fake red hair right next to a real redhead.

Here is me with fake auburn hair standing beside some gorgeous person with actual auburn hair.

Here is me with fake dark brown hair and also some chick with actual pink hair.

Here is me platinum blonde.

Usually my hair is sort of mousy medium brown.

e.g. Like this (which I will concede is one of the better pics of me with short hair)

Riz I think you look pretty gorgeous when you're all ginger and that short haircut is great but then... take a look at my boyfriend and tell me I'm not biased.

I haven't had my actual natural colour since about 1997 but here is an approximation from highschool:

I hate it.

Rizzo man, you look like a sensible adult in that second picture! That's what I have been striving for my entire life.
Your hair, at that length right now, looks a little nuts. Untamed. Wild. Maybe that's circumstancial and it's not always like that, but taking off some of the length to make it more manageable is never a bad idea. It looks like it could be as long as say, Andy's hair if you took a pair of straighteners to it, and no dude (with rare exception) should ever have hair that long.

My second suggestion, which probably would require you to shave your head if you've used the wrong dye, is the lose the black. There is no other way about this. Permanent black dye looks strange and unnatural. Especially on people with naturally light hair. You could probably pull off any colour you can think of with the following exceptions:
Black
Blue
Purple

With that in mind, go nuts. I think you'd got the right face type to pull off a lot of things.

Rizzo, embrace your redheaddedness. All through my life I have wished I had hair your colour (my dad has the loveliest red hair, that has all these beautiful natural blonde highlights) and you go and cover it up! Sad.

Actually, all I am saying is that I wish I had red hair, dammit. Do what you want! Although I will admit, you do look smashing in that short hair photo.

Speaking with a ponytail, you're wrong, Jimmy.
...imagine if you will, the scenario of a guy marching towards you with the intent of looking tough infront of a lady after punching your lights out.
You know immediately that this guy wants to fight you, so you take your jacket off, hang it over a chair, reach into your back pocket, and take out a scrunchie for your hair. Straight away, you see in his eyes that he is having second thoughts. Afterall, you were prepared. What if that means he might actually lose?
You scoop up your hair and reach behind the back of your head, pulling your hair into a nice, tight, feminine ponytail. The look in his eyes has changed from minor self doubt to real, actual 'shit yer pants' fear. You have a ponytail, motherfucker. You mean business.
He no longer wishes to fight you, but instead would like to offer you a drink.
After all, the only thing more embarassing than losing a fight to a man with a ponytail, is being a man with a ponytail.

I don't fully understand what your hair is doing, but short hair + decent sideburns is always good. Grow some mutton chops, though.
