They are not exactly metal. Imagine Eisley and Black Sabbath had a baby. Except that Dreamside is older than Eisley. Okay, just imagine that Black Sabbath had a female vocalist that sang about fairies instead of the devil.* Their music has a trancelike quality. Wikipedia calls it "Darkwave," if you need a vague genre descriptor.
*Yes, I know Ozzy never sang about the devil that much. I am not stupid or lying.

The music world is replete with many hideously stupid genre names, but that's got to be the worst I've ever seen. The only way that name could be in any way redeemed is if the genre it was describing was actually satanic sea shanties.
