Terry Pratchett has Alzheimer's
KvP:
I don't think this is the place to discuss the utilitarian worth of different people. Let's just drop it, eh?
casull:
You kind of proved my point just there- if you took a 'who is worth more' poll, Terry Pratchett would have a significant lead for about 99% of everyone ever because he is a prolific and well-enjoyed author, whereas grandma probably made great cookies and smelled nice. Does she have less right to live or less right not to be stricken with alzheimers? No. In practicality, would most people prefer that, of the two, Pratchett stayed lucid? Yes.
Fact: this is a stupid argument.

Maybe grandma donated yearly to charities and as a result of her efforts one person got to live on a little longer.
Yo know, you're right. This is a stupid argument.
Ballard:
Yeah, nobody's gonna win this. I think we all know what we mean, and we're merely arguing semantics at this point. In Casull's defense, what he said was just poorly worded, but not malicious.
Alex C:
I'm just awed by the deftness of the trolling that started the whole thing.
