I like one song out of that 100. And it was number 42! Ah well, it should have been higher but a lot of that list is the reason why I don't listen to JJJ anymore.

I don't get why this is surprising.
Silverchair are a popular band and Straight Lines was the number 1 single for fucking ages. Lots of young people listen to Silverchair. Triple J is the national youth broadcaster.
The fact that they are mind-blowingly shit doesn't really enter into the equation. I'm incredibly surprised they didn't take the number one spot.
Why is it surprising that a majority of people generally have a pretty dodgy taste in music? It's a blessing that the list is as good as it is.
To sum up, the top 10 is quite shit but I'm happy that the Cold War Kids and Daft Punk made it, Knights of Cydonia is a great choice for number 1 because it's an anthem and a pretty good thing to represent the year IMO. I have no idea why the Foo Fighters qualify at all, The Wombats can suck a dick, hooray for the Midnight Juggernauts and M.I.A and thank fuck Harder Better Faster Stronger was higher up the list than Kanye.
