Yeah, dire.

I'd probably be more apathetic towards them than flat out dislike them if that awful, awful song about September or whatever hadn't been playing on every radio station / in every store several times an hour for months a few years ago.

Actually, you know who puts on amazing shows? Whatsitcalled.
Panic and the Disco.

I mean, I don't especially like them, but their shows are to die for. Green Day tries the same theatrics, but Panic and the Disco excells at it. They're one of the only concert videos I'll watch.

I used to like Green Day. My dad listened to it, so even though I knew nothing about them, I could quote lyrics. Then American Idiot came out.
American Idiot is ironic. To the point of absurdity.

It's an anti-mainstream, "against-the-man" from a mainstreamed, "man-controlled" band.
At least, that's my opinion.

I took a trip to youtube to find out what you were talking about. Now, youtube reveals you're talking about this band and comparing them to this band...
...and you'd rather hear the former? Can I have some of what you're taking? If I could derive pleasure from a band as insipid as Panic At The Disco then I would be a VERY happy man. The interesting thing is that while Green Day and hundreds of times more tolerable than Panic At the Disco, you could switch the vocals around and I wouldn't be able to tell.

It's not that I like Panic's music better, I just prefer their theatricality. I'd rather listening to old Green Day any day of the week, if I had to choose.
I mean, I don't I like either band a whole lot, but if whatev.

Panic at the Disco has fun shows.
Green Day has some fun songs.

I really hate boring concerts. And standing concerts. But that's only because I'm short.
I am a teenager. I need to be entertained at all times, or my texting bill is through the roof.

I also heard something about Panic at the Disco taking their name from a ---->Smiths<---- (shineshineblinknblinkyay.) song.
Which made me happy. <3

If it's theatrics you're looking for, might I suggest this band?

There are a lot of bands who put on great shows. The Faint had good theatrics when I saw them. And if you want to be entertained, I saw Ingrid Michaelson and I left the concert with a sore face because I couldn't stop laughing, because she was really funny. Yes, there are boring shows, but most of the shows I've seen involve something other than a band standing around singing at you, like crazy video elements, the band being personable, or the audience being too busy dancing to really be bored.

(Yes, I realize neither of the musicians I listed are related in anyway to Green Day, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.)

I just banned both Jeff Newguy & Gabbly.  I didn't IP ban, just the accounts.  Both accounts were run by regulars who should know better, ie: that  unfunny alt accounts are pretty dumb and also annoying.
