He's talking about the quadruped robot. Which I'm pretty sure has been posted on this forum before multiple times; I'm surprised it's evidently new to a lot of you.

Ok, guys, so I am on this dating site. It is quite possibly one of the funniest sites in the world. Also, the terrible person troll in me loves it, because it's easy to argue with people on there. The cynical bitter spinster in me also loves the place because it makes me feel like I am right for my bitterness. Anyway, tonight I came across this little gem

Why do people think this is an appropriate response to rejection? Also, hahahaha that guy is a loser.

Also, what the hell does "1/2 bread" mean.

Although, it's probably a misspelling, considering such gems as "borader", "enought", and "sucken"

I think it is "half breed/bred"

If see would have messaged him back, I am fairly certain the results would have been the same. Lately, it seems like every time I respond to someone saying I am uninterested, I get some sort of hatemail back. I recent, politely, rejected some dude, and he messaged back with a very detailed list of why everything in my profile is wrong and bad. He went on and on about how one of my favorite writers is a "fag" who I only like because "every fucking scene girl likes him, and the New York Times says you should like him, and you think it makes you look smart." I wasn't aware that scene girls liked David Sedaris.

I tend to just respond with "Man up and move on."

I've decided my favorite part of rants like that one is how the author almost invariably use the terms slut and whore to describe a woman who won't sleep with them, which hits me as a bit oxymoronic. I mean, really, is going the extra mile and calling them a cock tease or a frigid bitch really that hard? At least it would make a misguided sort of sense. Furthermore, it hits me as kinda self-defeating as well. I can totally see how you could build up so much perv-rage if you really think all women are sluts and thus believe that you're incapable of closing the deal even with random internet skanks.

So, I'm on that same site, I actually signed up to see if I could meet someone from there before my friend could. Just to show him up for fun. I actually would love a response back saying "eh, no thanks" because then I'd know not to wait for a response. Then again, I'm not some crazy asshole who thinks that girls in real life are like the girls in the porno movies.

You guys have to understand though, as much as guys would like "Not interested," when girls send them, they get these messages. After awhile of getting the same treatment, why would anyone want to do it again?

I imagine Dovey doesn't mean to imply that guys like this have a serious grievance. I'd put someone who doesn't respond to messages on a dating site in the same category as a stranger who doesn't bother to acknowledge you in the least when you greet them politely or hold a door open for them; it's a touch insensitive, but they don't really owe you anything and you're most certainly out of line the second you start spewing hateful bile about them. Pointing out that someone is being rude is often a greater breach of etiquette than committing a transgression in the first place, after all, so acting like a stark raving lunatic like this asshat did just takes us back to Dovey's original point: the dude is crazy.

Whenever I see something like that, I have the largest urge to proof-read and edit it. Get rid of all the "could of"s and "your"s and replace them with "could have" and "you're". Fix up the punctuation mistakes. But, really, there's no point. Dude like that isn't going to learn.

True story:

Once in high school, my first "serious boyfriend" cheated on me. When I found out, we broke up. The following weeks he tried to get me back, by giving me a series of notes. I got so annoyed with his constant note writing, that eventually, I just started correcting all his grammar and spelling errors and handing them back.

Be my girlfriend, please.
I have done that to people before. It is sooooooooo excellent to see the look on their face when they realize you've taken the hateful bile that they have spewed onto paper and created a coherent letter that makes them not look like a douche.

On the topic of sending 'no thanks' and acknowledging strangers:
I think if someone sends the message saying "hey, whats up" and there is no response, whatever, who cares, its like real life, you say that to someone in person mostly they'll say, "hey not much, you?" as they're walking by and not even wait for your response.
But when you take the time to write out a pretty sizable message to someone, showing that you took time out of your day to actually read what they have written rather than look at the pictures and go 'she hot, i wana fuk her' I think that can deserve a response. Of course, I'm a grammar nazi a lot so I don't often respond to people who TALK LIKE THIS, LiKe ThIs, or lik dis. But if they seem like they're at least a little smart, I'll talk to them.
The truth of the matter is that on those sites, most of the girls are getting 10x more email than the guys. That's just how it works, the guys will send out bunches of emails and hope that just one or two of the girls respond, because most of them don't respond. Hell, I've even been of the mindset that even if it doesn't look like we could have a relationship, lets at least be friends, the Phoenix Valley is a damn big place, you never know what part of town you might end up in when you need a friend. I could have probably not gone on so long with this, but WHATEVER DUDE, JACE IS TIRED OF NEVER HAVING RELATIONSHIPS OKAY.

tl;dr: Jace is disgusted with how online dating works.

Things were so much simpler back in my day. If a girl liked the look of you then she'd just bash you over the head and drag you off to meet her parents. If you had a problem with that... Well, you probably weren't interested in girls to begin with. The Intarwubs have a lot to answer for.

You want cosmically unfair? A British convicted rapist, out on day-release as part of his parole program, bought a lottery ticket and won something like 7 million.

And people ask me why I chose Atheism.
