DC Universe Online
Scandanavian War Machine:
^ what he said.
Sylens21:
Well, yeah, Champions does look pretty sweet-ass, but are we forgetting that the DC Universe has some of the most memorable characters out there? That fact alone makes me want to at least give it a play, because, let's face it how cool would it be to play as Batman and able to team up with other DC heroes? Or Green Lantern, or even some of the other characters that I'm far too lazy to mention right now.
Seriously, you can't just sit here and say, "Oh it's gonna suck because it's a licensed property, just like every licensed property has sucked," because you know it's not true. Whatever. Lock this thread, all it's attracting is trolls.
est:
What are you talking about? I see 4 forum regulars in here talking about how they are not really interested in the game. We are not trolling you by disagreeing, we are just disagreeing. Also, can you actually play as any known characters? I wouldn't expect you to be able to that, only playing alongside known characters, which might be exciting enough for some people. Everyone being able to play as Superman would make for a pretty shit game.
Scandanavian War Machine:
yeah, i was curious about details like that as well.
i mean, i don't play mmos anymore and don't really plan on starting but i'm always curious about new games even if i won't be playing them.
how does the whole thing work exactly? summarize for those of us too lazy to look it up ourselves.
Alex C:
From the sound of various interviews, the established heros and villains are going to be key npcs, just like in any other MMORPGer. You'll just be taking orders and occasionally fighting alongside Superman in events instead of the Statesman. Looks like they plan on letting you be a hero or a villain too, which is nice.
