How do you make pickles? I knew it's the same thing as cucumbers but I have no idea how you get from one to the other.

There are a few things you can do to do to cucumbers that get them called pickles.
I make dill pickles and the process is:
Wash and cut cucumbers
Soak them in salt water for 12 hours (photo one)
Make a brine of vinegar, salt and spices
Add dill, garlic and mustard seed to the jars
Add cucumbers and brine to fill
Boil the jars to seal them
