why are people friends with faye
raoullefere:
Marten and Dora are friends with Faye because they enjoy talking with her*. I mean, all those talks where they take a concept like forming an indie supergroup and beat it half to death--that's people having a good time in one another's company. We simply don't see that as much anymore because Jeph's focused on other aspects of their lives right now.
*For that matter, so does Sven.
Lyrical:
Other than Faye decking Marten for slapping her butt, she doesn't deliberately hit him hard enough to leave bruises or actually hurt him, as far as I can tell. They're just joking around. Plus, as Dora mentioned, they had a bit of a BDSM dynamic going on, which involves one person hurting the other in ways that the person getting hurt actively likes and consents to (or them doing so to each other).
kitschykat:
I've had a best friend for 8+ years similar to Faye. Faye has many redeeming qualities:
1. She's real, yeah she's perpetually annoyed but at least she doesn't try to be someone she isn't. See 2
2. She's funny. Her annoyance and witty banter is the source of much humor
3. She's diverting. She generally avoids talking about superdeep shit, and sometimes that's really awesome.
Is it cold in here?:
Faye has bruised Marten, though.
Darke:
Hah. Got to love Jeph's newspost for that comic. "I am pretty certain this is the most risque QC is ever going to get."
How utterly, utterly wrong.
