I watched my great-grandmother slaughter a chicken when I was wee! It was super gross and I don't remember it that clearly, but dinner was fried chicken. (It was really good.) Also I remember being completely fascinated by the pig-slaughtering process described in Little House in the Big Woods. Also my uncle used to hunt deer using the archery method. So I think I could manage my own meat!
