Oh shit seriously?

I was looking at shows on Last.fm and I saw that the Mt Goats were playing with Owen Pallett in SF. Which is already good enough. Now it makes more sense

Ohhhh shiiiiiits

Yeah I believe he did the strings for the upcoming Mountain Goats album which is apparently rather steeped in Biblical references and such. At least...the song titles are and I would imagine those aren't simply arbitrary.

Here is what John Darnielle had to say about that (the biblical references, not Owen Pallet)

Quote
"I guess the obvious question is going to be: 'John, have you had some sort of religious awakening?' and while I guess lots of people might want to be coy about answering that, that's never really been my style, so: no. It's not like that. It's not some heavy-narrative-distance deal either, though, and it's not a screed. It's twelve new songs: twelve hard lessons the Bible taught me, kind of. More than that I'd want to wait to say until some people have heard it, which won't be long. Will there be more news soon, quite soon? Like, next week, even? Oh yes there will!"

Also apparently The Mountain Goats are taking Final Fantasy out on tour with them as well.

Yes, he'll support them for their dates in November and two dates in December.
