Shteevie:
These are pretty believable reactions from the two characters involved. Marisob is used to less nuanced interactions between people, and Hannerita probably doesn't have much tolerance for non-pragmatism. Hopefully they can still be friends afterwards, because Marigold is going to need someone to help her move.

Was wondering that myself. I tried a St. Bernardus Abt 12 for the first time this weekend, and I'm certain it won;t be the last.

Was the sweet potato / black pepper beer [which is weird even to type] good enough to recommend by name?

And once again, Hanners go boom! (as opposed to BOOM!). I can't say I blame her—as hard a time as Hannelore has trying to have a 'normal' life, to see someone whose only (apparent) problem is she sits in her room all day, who has the kind of friend Hanners had to taser to get (snerk), and who wants to sit around and wallow in her misfortune has to be irritating.

If it's something else, well, he needs to own up to it (he doesn't see any future in it, she's not 'attractive' to him... honestly, I can't think of anything else, and these are lame...).

From the info we've heard from Angus about his and Marigiold's relationship, I can see where Marigold as a romantic prospect has never crossed Angus' mind. My money is on him thinking of Marigold as a 'sister,' or, more likely, a 'kid' whom he really can't relate to. Though the fact that Faye seems to be thawing towards him can't be helping things.

OH GOD, NO! Not over-analysis! Anything but that! That's the sign of, the sign of…

…me.

haikupoet:
Marigold is so channeling me right now, except that i tend to think that lots of women tend to be interested so i assume they aren't.

Also, Marigold: you are not fat, you are zaftig. And you compare quite favorably to Faye. Also, you're not ugly, you're just sort of Italian-looking.

That is her only problem.  If Marigold really thinks she's fat, ugly and pathetic then she could do something about it.  Instead she always chooses the easier option of hiding in her den of self-pity.  Giving into that "woe is me" crap just creates a manipulative passive-aggressive monster.  Good for Hannelore.

Moxie:

--- Quote from: carvin on 05 Apr 2010, 09:30 ---Perhaps some kind of honesty on his part as to why he rejected her. Honestly, I'd like to know that too... I mean, if I was him I'd be all over that like a teabagger on a dollar. Likely it's because he likes Faye. If it's something else, well, he needs to own up to it (he doesn't see any future in it, she's not 'attractive' to him... honestly, I can't think of anything else, and these are lame...).

Why are those lame? If Angus isn't physically attracted to Marigold, that's not lame that's who he is. Just because he's not doesn't mean no one else is. If he doesn't see any future in it, why should he go for a relationship with her?
