What did people ever decide Baroness is, anyway? As far as I know they're one of those bands that people call metal but can't really be considered remotely metal when you consider the existence of stuff like this.

Googles says progressive metal but that's ridiculous 'cuz people used to call Queensryche that. WTF.

Maybe it progressed from one thing to the other.

Alex C:
Yeah, but that's when you're supposed to give it a new name.

Alex C:
I mean, I thought progressive metal was about being stuck in the past, like Dream Theater.
