this reminded me immediately of a kumail nanjiani bit where he describes visiting a family friend's house and listening to this little girl list all of the disney princesses from her favourite disney movies and when she gets to jasmine from aladdin, she loudly proclaims "i don't like jasmine because she's black", to which her mom, overhearing, immediately yells across the house - "JASMINE'S NOT BLACK".

Are we talking about actual princess characters or princess branding? There haven't been a hell of a lot of princesses in the last 20 years. They only included Pocahontas because that film didn't even bother to get tribal custom (or anything close to a "Native American culture") right, and do they count Esmerelda from Hunchback? I forget.
