It is interesting; I'd never heard of this. It immediately brought to mind Brahm's Academic Festival Overture, and a historic Detroit MI building, the Harmonie Club, which used to house a German ground founded around singing.

What I find amazing is that that band headlined a festival in my town about 6 years ago - the smallest, crappiest, most insignificant town in the county. I guess it either shows they need the work or they love what they do, but I've never really been a fan.

Not Beatles, but yeah - definitely reminiscent of the late '60's-early '70's. Something I really would've appreciated back in the 80's when it came out. Considering the music circles I hung out in back then, I was just surprised I'd never heard of them.

I warmed to country and bluegrass, a little, over the years with my Nashville-born wife, after Clara proposed to me on our first date and I rejected her because of her presumed rural upbringing and musical tastes. I never warmed enough to ragas even after 20 months in India, although I still enjoy the sound track to the Satyajit Ray Pather Panchali trilogy. Clara and I came late to opera, and that taste is still developing. It's apt to slow without her or another companion to attend Met Live in HD performances.

I have the Strangler's best of.. I think it was their "Get A Grip On Yourself" on the Burning Ambitions vinyl that grabbed me. A lot more keyboards than a lot of punk and post punk bands were doing.
