If you guys don't want everything, then how about Everything Everything?
Everything Everything - Suffragette Suffragette (It's just two songs but with lyrics like "who's gonna sit on your face when i'm gone, who's gonna sit on your face when i'm not there" how could you not check it out?)

Manchester Music Review:
Quote
After having been covered on the live circuit with some excitement by MM’s Cath A, Everything Everything have been serving up a range of impressive, but equally baffling live performances. Their sound, as many will attest, is not one that can be easily defined. A mixture of rock, post rock, afrobeats, prog, deep harmonies and indie spikes, the lead track “Suffragette Sufrragette” is addictive. The rhythm conspires to throw you off beat, whilst a vocal skips into falsetto before the structure rumbles into a head shaking middle eight, which seems completely at odds with the stifled, dub assisted strums.

Everything Everything aren’t different for the sake of it and there’s no disjointed distillation of influences either. This single is an inspired charge at the established order. It defines it’s own genre, at the same time, spinning out an intelligent barrage of guitar arrangements, mixed tempos and sing-a-long angelic harmonies. If you want a clue as to what else they can do, the next song “Luddites & Lambs” is crammed with jangling prog / post rock guitar phrases and sweet, but off-kilter vocalisations. There are a lot of new bands on North West scene, never mind the UK as a whole, but if I had to back one act for 2009 - and one that has instantly woken me up to something completely new - it’s Everything Everything.

Okay, this is getting a little out of hand haha.
First off, this forum has opened up my eyes to realize that there is seriously so much music out there that I never thought was.
After going through this forum once, I was like WOW I am not as musically enthusiastic as I thought!
Soooo thanks to everyone who has made this great forum "cluttered"
Nicky Thrice..you posted so much good stuff man! that ra ra riot demo?? i've never heard it, I'm not asking you to repost it cos that goes against the rules, but could you tell me the name so i can go and find it????  There was so much shit that i wanted to grab and i had to get off and then BAM it felt like it never was there lol i can't even remember what you posted or else i'd go find it elsewhere. damnittt!
You all have great points in your own ways. The whole genre-nizing thing though, like there are so many different genre's that have been opened up to me through this site. Why would you possibly keep it to certain ones?? That's what i call LAME lol
Good music is good music, I listen to like everything, there are certain things that I cannot get into, I try to only have the best music in my collection but that's what scrolling is for, you don't like something, don't get it.

And an easy way to solve the whole tooo much music at once thing...GET A MEDIAF!RE ACCOUNT. hit save it to your files! lol
You have no idea how much shit i have yet to listen to because it's just saved and waiting for me. but that's what's cool. this place gives you the option to find shit that you'll never find elsewhere, i'm sure you couuulld find it elsewhere but i've gone to record stores before with my mp3 player in hand, looking for an album, even though i don't own a car nor an actual cd player lol and have not found half the shit i've found on here.
Sooooo yeah let's just please post music?!
Brand New-The Holiday EP
Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?fjd9keietgzTracks on here are as follows
The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot(acoustic)
Logan To Government Center(demo)-better than original version off of Your Favorite Weapon
The Quiet Things That No one Ever Knows(acoustic)
Good To know that if I ever need attention all I have to do is die(acoustic)
yep!
The whole private thing is a great idea because I must admit, if you know the littlest about this site it is really easy to find on google.

Claphands, no rules have been set down yet. Nicky Thrice can post all of those things.
Reread my post, or any of the others.
The point was to make it possible for everyone to actually have a chance at their music being shared.
Mr. Thrice can post his Ra Ra Riot. The major complaint was with über posts.

Also; I second hiding this thread.

i seriously have like 100 albums yet to dl. Everyone should seriously do it. SERIOUSLY.
And to the dude above me, I know no rules have been set, I'm just trying to all around respect the catastrophe that has been brought up on this day. lol I mean, you guys have been here a fuck of a lot longer than me so like..you know what I'm trying to say.

A good friend of mine is taking his band on tour today, and I guess now is as good a time as ever to upload a couple of their songs.

Vinyl Williams - (Pseudo Ersatz + Behemoth)

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediaf!re.com/?2ytgomyu4wj
I don't really have a description handy (sorry), so here's their myspace.

Code: [Select]

If you're anywhere near where they'll be touring, I heartily recommend going and seeing them.

Having an entire discography in front of you kind of ruins the magic, you know?

This is stupid. I could just as easily say "Having any music at all right in front of me kind of ruins the magic, ya know?" Once you decide to use this thread for sharing music you can't compromise based on some intangible principle that means nothing. All you are doing is punishing people who want to listen to new music (the point of the thread) such as this guy:

What the fuck?
Where did all those albums go?!!
SAD.

I never said take the music off, just keep it to fewer albums per post.

Honestly, in retrospect, I can't think of why I thought that would help. But yeah, keep the music train coming. That's what it's all about, come day's end.

Oh hey, we sure are the first google hit for "mediafire thread".  I'll look into hiding this thread from the outside world, but I am not sure it's as easy as that.  I know we can hide forums, just not sure about individual threads.  In the past Jeph's not wanted this forum to be registered-users only.

An alternative would be moving the thread into one of the hidden forums, but that just doesn't feel right.

Perhaps a separate members-only mediafire forum, with threads according to genre?  Or would that twist the original intent too much?

1ww that brings up the problem of now having two threads leaching off jeph's bandwidth. And the original problem of us wanting to keep the mediafire thread out of reach by an easy google search.

I was also thinking of having a members only thread.  Or, like some forums do, lock it to members with 50(or whatever) or less posts.  This is a little bit of a double sided sword though, because I'm sure some member's first post was here, and they gave some great music.

I also hate the idea of the different thread for each genre.  THAT ruins the fun more than anything.

It does have its pros though, since you wouldn't have to wade through any bullshit you didn't want. And you would know where to find anything you wanted.

Though I think one giant thread is better as well, and I am pretty sure est shot down the idea of multiple threads already.

50 or less posts? I might have to megapost 21 albums.
Yeah the whole seperate genre thing is a bit complex. Not only does it KILL the fun; it's also very hard these days to put one specific band/artist into one specific genre. You would have more genre threads than your grandmother knows how to sew together.
I'm all for just having this thread, less well known to the populous, slightly more "presentable", and at the same time, just the way it is.

Maybe just put this thread into a separate forum only. Unless this is more terribly complicated than my experience has taught me, it could be a really easy transition, and the only thing would be finding a sweet spot for members allowed in.

This thread is basically the only reason I come here (other than to make stupid comments about music), so I'd hope my qualifications were up to snuff.

A 50 post lock out is a bad move, because we have tons of lurkers who finally come into themselves and more often than not do so to share really excellent CDs, so whatever conclusion you arrive at, please don't make it that.

So basically, for every time you post an acoustic album that I will download, which is probably anytime you load an album with an acoustic guitar on it, I will PM you a beautiful poem that I will intend to enrich your life as much as your album has enriched mine*.

I love Music, this much is practically a given. And so it is with utmost sincerity when I tell you that Sekklow's Mind The Step Mix set is basically the fucking sweetest fucking album I have fucking listened too in a long time. I can't quite explain it, but I'll try. Basically, Dubstep is when electronic music decides to turn town the "Fluff" and turn up the "Skunky, Demonic, Wheezing, and Face-Smashingly poppin' Bass, Beats, and Bump". Now what this mix proceeds to do is take that formula and MASTERFULLY craft it into the single smoothest sounding Party Mix I have ever heard (Yes, I have like 15 Fabric and Fabriclives, my qualifier stands). But it's more than that, as much fun as you and everyone in the room will have when you throw it on, you can also bring the party inside.

For anyone whose never done this with other music (Onewheelwizzard & his brood probably know exactly what I'm talking about), take this record, put it on when no one else is around or gonna be around for like and hour and a half, and just VIBE your frickin' brain out. Just chill, take in every single note and digitally remastered synth/bass/drum line, and just explore as many different possibilities in your own head as you can. It never ceases to amaze what kind of places truly inspired music can take you, and this record is just a guaranteed ticket to "Smoothsville". Special notice goes out to the Sekklow remix  of "Use Somebody" by the Kings of Leon, this is easily my absolutely favorite piece of electronic music ever, including the Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger/Around the World Mix from Alive 2007 by Daft Punk and Breathe by The Prodigy. I seriously cannot listen to the drop in this track without totally losing my shit all over the place, this usually results in me having to bust moves and cut rugs all up and down in this biznitch.

In conclusion, take this album and rock out/jam out with your cock/clam out.

*I wont send crappy poems to people who posted crappy acoustic records (Does not compute).

Wolves in the Throne Room - Malevolent Grain

Quote from: Southern Lord website
Brand new vinyl only EP release from the grimm Cascadia black metal horde: Wolves In The Throne Room. 2 brand new songs (1 per side) that further solidify their death like grip on the jewel throne of American Black Metal. As with their mind blowing debut: "Diadem of 12 Stars", Jamie Meyers (Hammers of Misfortune) lends her beautiful voice to the track on Side A "A Looming Resonance".

The "Malevolent Grain" EP is the first to feature their new guitar player Will Lindsay (formerly of Middian) who had been the band’s touring bass player. The sound of this new recording blazes down similar paths as their past albums but seems to have even more depth and darkness than before.

That Telepathe record sounds like an antique of our generation and not in a good way. Also, announcement time.

Consider the following an official addition to the current Rules:

Quote
Before you post in this thread, take a minute and consider the following:

Think of this as the community chest. Everyone is free and encouraged to contribute to it, with that in mind:

* This thread is for you to share  the music that you love for people who would normally not be able to access it. This is not an everything-goes-all-the-time mp3 blog.
* Think about what you are uploading. Is it easily available elsewhere and popular? If yes, is it really worth it to upload and post here?
* Have some self control. Is it really necessary to upload the entire discography of this band? Is it all really so excellent? If it is, don't worry. Whoever downloads this will surely realise this and look for more material on their own.

To return to the community chest, imagine you one day open the chest and everyone threw everything inside it. There's probably more things that you can use there now, but they are now buried in a mountain of debris and you'll likely miss the good stuff anyway! Imagine though, that you come to the chest one day and you find that everyone thought about what might best serve us all and the neatly placed it inside. This is what this thread should be.

Now the current rules stand as

Quote
No hot-linking images or albums. You can re-host images at http://imageshack.us.

Ensure your tags are correct and that you have specified both Artist/Album in your post.

Upload your files in either a .zip or a .rar archive to mediaf!re.com, in multiple parts if the album is over 100mbs. The reason for this is that we know mediaf!re is safe and efficient and allows multiple downloads. The ads on other sites, such as Sendspace, are known to contain viruses on the page. Get yourself checked out.

Post your link using code tags. It's the # icon above the policeman emoticon. This prevents the links from being traced back to the forums, lowering the chance that the wrong people notice the thread, potentially threatening Jeph with legal action.

Also, please do NOT request albums.

Repost the rules at the top of each new page.

TL;DR version: don't do megaposts or post readily available stuff.

Joshua Radin - Simple Times

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?yl5mzwwyiym
In my opinion it is better than this AllMusic review (located South) says. Hopefully this abides by the new rules, in that it's an album I'm currently enjoying, right this moment. If you need further reassurance, I do not upload things often and I'm sure there will be some people who enjoy this.

2008 was a banner year for the Hotel Café, whose popularity soared as songwriters like Priscilla Ahn, Meiko, and Ingrid Michaelson -- three artists who routinely graced the Hollywood venue's stage -- all released fine albums. The Café's female alumni hit the road in late 2008 as part of the Hotel Café Tour, allowing Joshua Radin the chance to release his own record during the lull. Simple Times is the songwriter's second album, building on the hushed guitar 'n' vocals combo that helped push his debut effort, 2006's We Were Here, onto the soundtracks of several television shows. His craft has improved since then -- after all, We Were Here collected the singer's earliest material, appearing only two years after his decision to give songwriting a shot -- but Radin still struggles with the balance between mood and melody. Simple Times is a warm, easygoing album geared for Sunday afternoons and Monday mornings, and its most interesting moments only occur when Radin invites somebody else into the vocal booth. Meiko lends her voice to "Sky," which balances commonplace lyrics with a radio-bound pop melody, while the up-and-coming songbird Erin McCarley harmonizes throughout "They Bring Me to You." Radin could use the musical input of those two artists, yet he relegates their role to that of a background vocalist, forcing them to sing major thirds over melodies that, frankly, pale in comparison to the girls' own material. The presence of Patty Griffin during "You Got Growing Up to Do" shows that Radin's potential may be evident to more veteran songwriters, but it's nevertheless muddled on this record, which offers an entirely pleasant listen but fails to pack the melodic wallop of Radin's Hotel Café peers.

And so this is not all just nag and no content.

I posted this a long time ago but I think it is time to do it again.

Shit Robot is an artist on DFA Records. As it is to be expected from the previous sentence he performs a manner of dance music although not in the style of the traditional dance-punk that used to characterise DFA. Shit Robot mostly does long pieces that stick to a main theme but are always changing underneath. The instrumentation is often fairly minimal, based on old synths and drum machines with a steady but not monotonous beat. It can also be said like someone is just playing a ton of effects over a rhythm that is equal parts low-key  disco and electro.

So far, he has released two singles and a couple of remixes. This is the first that he released. If people like it feel free to ask me for the other one using the PM function.

hey, so I figured with all these new rules and talk of hiding the thread I should stop my lurking. hopefully this album isn't known to everyone here, i figure it's good enough to warrant a post even though it's probably not tough to find on torrents (and i uploaded it before the new rules were posted :P)

World's End Girlfriend - Hurtbreak Wonderland

melodic, sample-heavy post rock with touches of classical, ambient, and IDM. RIYL explosions in the sky, do make say think, the books, or blazing and listening to music.
it's the newest and probably most accessible album from my favorite artist/band, hands down.

It's all acoustic and I didn't hear about it until a week ago, I'm not sure if it's hard to find or not.
Someone said something about acoustic stuff and well this fits the profile well.
I've upped other deathcab stuff and some postal service and people dl them sooo
If this is deemed as a useless post..I'll take it down. If not, cool i'm doing something right.
Let me know either way, I don't want to obstruct the "new" thread.

ALSO*
can someone PLEASE explain to me how a file gets deleted from your media account??
Like does it stay in there until it's found somewhere on the net or what? I'm confused by this.

This is a band from back home. I really dig their music and I think that it's worth a listen. I'm not sure how to to describe their music, but they kind of remind me of a mix between death cab and band of horses. Here's their LP and an EP. I posted their other EP earlier.

I pulled this from website that I didn't remember the name of; so I'm just saying I won't take credit for this little tid-bit of info:
Swedish piano-based indie trio Eskju Divine has broken up and frontman Gustaf Spetz is going solo.
His debut album “Good night Mr Spetz” will be officially out  tomorrow January 28 on Imperial Records, he delivers dreamy and catchy indie pop/rock piano based with wondeful vocals, it sounds simple, bright and close to the ground. Get´s you in a good mood, perfect!
Hmmmm I think this is somewhat hard to find, considering it's only been the 28th for 4/5hrs?   :-o

I just found a bunch of shit that maybe not many have heard of, this so called "hard to find" stuff and will be opening my ears to it to open it to yours.
EDIT** That Joshua Radin is really really great. You should all have a listen or 5. Thanks uploader!

I don't know how that penis got in there Nicky but  hahaha
