These guys are playing my house this Friday!  Anyone in the Philadelphia area should come to 3914 Spruce St on Friday at 9 or so.  Admission will be 8 bucks.

It has to be said, you are a blatant dude. If I was even in the same country I'd go. Those of you who are you have no excuse not to go and see Clockcleaner play a house gig, which as everybody knows are always the best gigs ever.

Okay! First post. I've really enjoyed the emo, screamo, post-rock, and jazz I've downloaded off of this thread so I suppose it's time to give back.

Encyclopedia of American Traitors (crusty-powerviolence)
Discog - http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?e2sudj1l1c2

September (emo)
10" - http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?f9ldx9mcczv

The Little Rock Nine (Groovy screamo with crusty lyrics and a female vocalist)
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?alzxbmmy9dm

The Locust (Noisecore with synths)
Self Titled, New Erections, Plague Soundscapes (i think) - http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?0dewzznzgxg

Much more coming soon. Also I'll probably be digitizing my record collection soon. So expect ALLOOOOTTT of screamo. Alot of Orchid, Pg. 99, End of the Century Party, Palatka, and Reversal of Man!

Sunset Rubdown - Shut Up I Am Dreaming

AMG:
Quote
Easily one of the busiest people in indie rock, vocalist/keyboardist Spencer Krug of the critically hailed Montreal band Wolf Parade (as well as part time Frog Eyes member) leads Sunset Rubdown, intended to be an additional outlet for Krug's songwriting and slightly more experimental than Wolf Parade. Krug released the first Sunset Rubdown album, Snake's Got a Leg, as a solo work in July 2005. It wasn't long until he assembled a full band featuring Jordan Robson Cramer, Mike Doerkson, and former Pony Up! member Camilla Wynne Ingr. Following a self-titled EP, this lineup released Sunset Rubdown's second long-player, Shut Up I Am Dreaming, in May 2006 on Absolutely Kosher. It was followed in 2007 by Random Spirit Lover.

Since the links in this thread were long, long gone, I scoured the internet and located The World/Inferno Friendship Society. I downloaded these from Ruckus (warning, videos/talking ads/most annoying site this side of a Geocities homepage), stripped the WMA DRM, and converted them to MP3 CBR 160kbps. I haven't tested most of the files, so let me know if there are any problems. Search the thread for more info on this band, I don't feel like reposting what's been said, even though they are that awesome.

Okay, another album finally...and such a great one at that.

Yppah - You Are Beautiful At All Times

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?dswjebgnbfl
From Wikipedia:
Quote
Yppah (pronounced "Yippah"), aka Joe Corrales, is an electronic music artist signed to Ninja Tune records. He currently resides in Houston, Texas.
His early teen years were spent playing guitar and bass in rock bands, his later ones as a scratch DJ who mixed hip hop and house in club sets, and was part of a turntablist group called "The Truth".
His music often mixes in guitars through massive delays, keyboards and loops sampled from real drums and other techniques.
His first album, titled You Are Beautiful at All Times, was released in 2006 on Ninja Tune records.

Enjoy.

Edit: Rules

Quote
Rules:

No hotlinking images or albums. You can rehost images at http://imageshack.us.

Ensure your tags are correct and that you have specified both Artist/Album in your post.

Upload your files in either a .zip or a .rar archive to mediafire.com, in multiple parts if the album is over 100mbs. The reason for this is that we know Mediafire is safe and efficient, and allows multiple downloads. The ads on other sites, such as Sendspace, are known to contain viruses on the page. Get yourself checked out.

Post your link using code tags. It's the # icon above the policeman emoticon. This prevents the links from being traced back to the forums, lowering the chance that the wrong people notice the thread, potentially threatening Jeph with legal action.

Also, please do NOT request albums.

Caul - A Golden Epiphany

The first 3 Caul releases (originally released as a set of limited edition cassettes, Epiphany/Fortunate, Whole, The Golden Section) in 1994, now remixed and remastered.

CD 1: Epiphany/Fortunate
Code: [Select]
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QF7UQZLQ
CD 2: Whole (this is one 57 minute track so maybe don't download this if you have adhd)
Code: [Select]

CD 3: The Golden Section
Code: [Select]
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HQNTF1I8
One of the finest (dark) ambient releases I've ever heard, especially the first disc.

Wierd, the one at the top of this page still works.

Oh yes, and I will upload that new xiu xiu for you as soon as I have finished uploading another album, (woods of infinity- forintelse & libido (demo version) which I may post here, if anyone wants it. Some quirky swedish black metal with lots of sampling in it.

EDIT: I'm gonna store the links here anyways.

Doesn't require any kind of merging, I put it in two halfs because it was too big for one file.

would anyone be interested in an amazing show that i saw of tweedy. He sings an array of songs (mostly wilco-including some rare ones, and a couple others-uncle tupelo & loose fur)? I was there, it was truly great :-)

Sure. Jeff Tweedy is awesome live. I like it when he plays Pecan Pie.

I also have a wide assortment of Jeff Tweedy live shows and Wilco-related projects, including Golden Smog, Uncle Tupelo, The Autumn Defense, The Minus 5, Wilco & Billy Bragg, and Glenn Kotche's solo album. If any of you are interested.

mediafire is experiencing some serious issues, it would seem. i tried to upload some stuff earlier and everytime the upload would finish i would just get the 404 error page instead of the page with the link.

i suggest switching to megaupload or something similar (not sendspace) for the time being, everyone.

Also I would like to point out that the combination of Sailor Moon and faux-Kerouac / Sonic Youth spelling is perhaps the purest distillation of what this forum is that we have yet been presented with.

Both Loose Fur albums.

I also have a wide assortment of Jeff Tweedy live shows and Wilco-related projects, including Golden Smog, Uncle Tupelo, The Autumn Defense, The Minus 5, Wilco & Billy Bragg, and Glenn Kotche's solo album. If any of you are interested.

yea. i dont have golden smog, the autumn defense, minus 5, or glenn kotche's solo album. if it is good and you want to, put it up.

*edit*

Jeff Tweedy 2007-01-30 The Bijou, Knoxville TN

i was thinking the best way to approach this would be to put up a track listing. but this is a good sound quality and he talks a little and is quite funny... but here you go...
1. intro
2. be patient wit me
3. remember the mountain bed
4. spiders (kidsmoke)
5. wait up
6. chinese apple
7. i am trying to break your heart
8. new madrid
9. radio king
10. wishful thinking
11. pieholden suite
12. ruling class
13. a shot in the arm
14. airline to heaven
15. theologians
16. encore 1
17. heavy metal drummer
18. hesitating beauty
19. immigrant song
20. how to fight loneliness
21. jesus etc.
22. cars can't escape
23. i'm the man who loves you
24. encore 2
25. someone else's song
26. acuff rose

the encores are just clapping, as is the intro. he only plays the beginning of immirgant song. it is actually divided up into 2 cds... but i didnt see that till i typed it... so yea.

Talking Heads - Talking Heads: 77 (Japan pressing 2006)

Quote from: AMG
Though they were the most highly touted new wave band to emerge from the CBGB's scene in New York, it was not clear at first whether Talking Heads' Lower East Side art rock approach could make the subway ride to the midtown pop mainstream successfully. The leadoff track of the debut album, Talking Heads: 77, "Uh-Oh, Love Comes to Town," was a pop song that emphasized the group's unlikely roots in late-'60s bubblegum, Motown, and Caribbean music. But the "Uh-Oh" gave away the group's game early, with its nervous, disconnected lyrics and David Byrne's strained voice. All pretenses of normality were abandoned by the second track, as Talking Heads finally started to sound on record the way they did downtown: the staggered rhythms and sudden tempo changes, the odd guitar tunings and rhythmic, single-note patterns, the non-rhyming, non-linear lyrics that came across like odd remarks overheard from a psychiatrist's couch, and that voice, singing above its normal range, its falsetto leaps and strangled cries resembling a madman trying desperately to sound normal. Talking Heads threw you off balance, but grabbed your attention with a sound that seemed alternately threatening and goofy. The music was undeniably catchy, even at its most ominous, especially on "Psycho Killer," Byrne's supreme statement of demented purpose. Amazingly, that song made the singles chart for a few weeks, evidence of the group's quirky appeal, but the album was not a big hit, and it remained unclear whether Talking Heads spoke only the secret language of the urban arts types or whether that could be translated into the more common tongue of hip pop culture. In any case, they had succeeded as artists, using existing elements in an unusual combination to create something new that still managed to be oddly familiar. And that made Talking Heads: 77 a landmark album.
