Yeah, something's not right. The link looks far longer than it should for one, and when I follow it takes me to your shared files page, which has nothing on it.

Yeah, it's set to private. Otherwise I'd find the link and repost it.

Vendetagainst, you need to zip or rar archive your files. Put them all into a folder, then drop them in a zipping application. I believe 7zip is free, google it. Then you can upload the .zip file onto Mediafire as an entire album.

Motorama are a Post-Rock band based in Russian Federation, they play post-punk and sound like Joy Division but are not trying to be Joy Division i.e. they are not Interpol. They like to think that music is very dance-able but it isn't really. You can download their EP for free, it's at 256 kbps and thoroughly enjoyable.

Here you are, my good sir.  I uploaded this album because it's pretty tight, but mostly because it's got "Punk Rock Girl" on it.  I can upload Big Lizard In My Backyard too, because everyone should hear "Bitchin' Camaro" at least once, if anyone wants to hear it.

Having built up a sizeable cult with surprising mainstream exposure here and there, the Milkmen got as close as they ever would to high-profile success with Beelzebubba. The basic formula and approach of the band hadn't changed a lot, but they did get it all together to create another near-perfect single, "Punk Rock Girl." Sprightly and catchy, it mixes the unexpectedly tender, sweet side of the band with the usual drawling humor from Anonymous -- everything from accordion to utterly random Beach Boys (or is that the Mamas and the Papas?) references crop up. Beyond that splash, it was Milkmen time as usual: over the top, sarcastic, and more. Production was the clearest and most radio-friendly it ever was. The band's eternal hatred for trendoids, poseurs, and morons unsurprisingly continued to flourish from the first song in: "Brat in the Frat" targets the title character in question but spends some time demolishing the radical wannabe as well. Similarly amusing slams and smackdowns crop up throughout: "Bad Party," the snarky "Everybody's Got Nice Stuff But Me," and so forth. As an album through and through, Beelzebubba suffers from the same problem as Eat Your Paisley in many ways -- a load of potentially inspiring ideas that often don't add up in the end. "RC's Mom" is a good example; if the music is meant to parody funk, it doesn't do it as well as, say, Led Zeppelin's "The Crunge," and if it's a celebration, it's pretty obvious and boring. As for the vocals, well, never mind. But so long as songs like "My Many Smells" and "Born to Love Volcanoes" are around, there's still hope yet.

An Announcement To Answer - Quantic

Quote from: AMG
Will Holland, the man behind Quantic, has a way of avoiding those attributes often associated with electronica that lead to criticisms of it being a cold and detached music. Maybe it's because he often uses live instrumentation as well as samples, maybe it's because of what he chooses to explore within his work, or maybe it's just a less tangible talent that Holland possesses, something that repels him from a mechanized sound towards something a lot more real. All of these things are certainly found on Quantic's fourth release, An Announcement to Answer. It's a warm, fun album, full of measured guitar riffs, cascading horns, complex rhythms, and multiple stylistic influences, from his familiar broken beat in "Bomb in a Trumpet Factory" to the salsa of "Sabor"; from the Japanese-inspired flute of "Blow Your Horn" to the loungey house in "Meet Me at the Pomegranate Tree" or to the hip-hop in "Ticket to Know Where." And yet nothing on the record seems forced or discordant or out of place, it all comes together calmly and perfectly and seamlessly, instruments entering and fading out, looped and interesting, the beat staying strong, the vocals, if any (rapper Ohmega Watts and singers Tempo and Noelle Scaggs all contribute), present and important without dominating. There are only two tracks that use solely studio equipment, the opener and the closer, but both -- the airy "Absence Heard, Presence Felt," with its strings from an old French movie, stills of the Eiffel Tower and narrow Parisian streets mixed with modern drum tracks and jazzy horns, and "Tell It Like You Mean It," all held chords and plaintive intensity -- sound as immediate as anything else on the album, and if anything, simply show off Holland's ability in the studio. It's accessible, intelligent, and engaging; yet another impressive display of the power and vitality that electronic music can have if done right, and enough to convince naysayers who may say otherwise.

The Devil, You + Me - The Notwist
This might have already been posted, if so, my bad, but it's a great album and so here it is anyways.

Quote from: AMG
After all that time spent developing, or (to be more kind) bouncing from place to place, beginning with scraggly post-hardcore (The Notwist, Nook) and then moving to relatively streamlined and occasionally melodic post-hardcore (12) and then abstract electronics (Shrink), the Notwist delivered a smart and song-oriented synthesis of the organic and synthetic on Neon Golden. And then, for six years, nothing, unless a remix EP and a soundtrack contribution count. The length between Neon Golden and its follow-up was twice the length of time between any two other Notwist albums, a gap that can be partially attributed to the members' several outside projects. Despite involvement in a number of varied recordings since their last album, The Devil, You + Me is as much a natural extension of Neon Golden as Nook was an extension of The Notwist. As subdued as ever, all the while retaining a sense of tension that has been a constant throughout its discography, the band makes only slight refinements. The most notable change is the incorporation of the 21-member Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra, who add further intensity to tightly wrapped songs like "Where in the World" (where escape is sought but impossible to achieve) and "Hands on Us" (which might be the album's most affecting and downcast song, despite its lyrical vagueness). The album could pass as a slightly more dramatic, comparatively spindly, and male-fronted alternate of Scary World Theory, the excellent 2001 release from central Notwist member Markus Acher's Lali Puna. It has that same slightly unnerved but ultimately comforting effect, and like Neon Golden, you might want to take it everywhere with you, even when you can only replay it in your mind.

The Drift - Scott Walker
Last up for me is Scott Walker's The Drift, which has been described as the sound of nightmares, and should really need no other introduction. If you haven't heard it it's worth at least a look, and I haven't met anyone who didn't react to at on some level when I played it. Most of them found it too disturbing though.

Here is Scott Walker's Tilt.

From rollingstone.com:
Quote
American singer and songwriter Scott Walker found massive success in Europe in the late '60s as a kind of hybrid of Engelbert Humperdinck and Ingmar Bergman – a golden baritone full of existential anxiety declaiming over lush orchestral arrangements. Along the way, his apocalypticcabaret approach became a template for "orch pop" proponents such as the Divine Comedy and Eric Matthews. Tilt, however, is eons removed from Walker's '60s work; the "orch" remains, but the "pop" has been replaced by obtuse, sepulchral music that – believe it or not – matches the ambient extremity of Aphex Twin and the queasy claustrophobia of Tricky. Once an expansive singer, Walker now sings with a mournful choke about millennial dread and horror at human brutality. From its grand church-organ-driven arias ("Manhattan") to its bleak, shifting soundscapes ("Bolivia '95"), Tilt is a chilling, often magnificent view into the abyss from a true iconoclast. (RS 771)

Okay guys I have a really good album for all of you to listen to. If you are into quiet minimalist post-rock whatever-the-fuck-you-call-it, you absolutely need to hear this.

Absolutely stunning post-rock here. This is the kind of album you put on while you are alone in a dark room late at night when nothing else is to be done. This is the kind of music you can lose yourself to. This album is full of quiet, desolate, but beautiful music. Whenever I start listening to this album, nothing can stop me. It draws you in. It is simply incredible.

Nice upload! As soon as my roommate quits playing WoW long enough for me to download it, I will. I love their earlier albums. Rhymesayers, along with Doomtree is some of the best hiphop around. While Atmosphere kicks a whole lot of ass, I'm a huge fan of POS myself. If you like Atmosphere, give it a listen.

P.O.S. (born Stefon Alexander), is a rapper signed to Rhymesayers Entertainment and a founding member of Doomtree. In 2001 P.O.S., along side rapper Syst (short for system) and DJ Anamoly (Jason Heinrichs) existed as a short-lived hip-hop group called Cenospecies. They stayed together long enough to put out an album titled Indefinition (2002). The group won the award for Best Band to Break Up in the Past 12 Months in the year-end issue of The City Pages. P.O.S. retains his punk rock influence in songs like Kidney Thief, but his music cannot easily be labeled. He has described his music as “rap to skateboard to”. Through raw drum beats, punk rock bass guitar riffs, and heated, verbose, sharp wordplay, Alexander has crafted a style that is largely his own. In such songs as Kicking Knowledge in the Face, he rails against those “mainstream” rappers who utilise the art form to tout the virtues of the superficial (rims and jewelry). He currently has two albums Ipecac Neat and Audition.

Quote from: TMT
Critics threw the term “space disco” around pretty frequently in describing Lindstrøm’s previous album, It’s a Feedelity Affair, and for good reason: it’s rare that a genre tag is so apt. Lindstrøm’s music takes every musical cue ever used to suggest the future and blends it together into a surprisingly sleek whole, with the final result sounding somewhat like the clean white future envisioned in Apple products mixed with the enthusiasm of ’50s serials that rely heavily on the word “raygun.”

It’s a Feedelity Affair was technically a collection of singles, which makes Where You Go I Go Too the Norwegian producer’s first album to be conceived as such, and it shows. Nothing resembling a single appears on the record, which consists of three lengthy tracks, the first of which stretches to nearly half an hour. The album only slows down to catch its breath in transitions; the vast majority of its duration is spent at a propulsive tempo that threatens to become wearing, but manages not to. Despite their length, each track is remarkably focused, generally consisting of a few clean melodic phrases shifting about and built upon methodically, underpinned by washes of synth and quiet whirs, and punctuated by melodramatic drums or laser sounds.

It’s these moments in which the album breaks away from its minimal tendencies — where it embraces the more blatantly emotive and dramatic elements of disco — that the album is at once most interesting and most conflicted. So much of each track consists of tiny movements and subtle alterations that these big, obvious gestures are particularly jarring. Sometimes they infuse the tracks with a giddy energy, especially on “Grand Ideas,” whose melody is already relentless and driving enough so that injections of thumping rock drums are more enjoyably over-the-top than irritatingly cheesy. A stretch of syncopated, almost jazzy figures on “The Long Way Home” is less welcome, breaking up the established energy of the track and calling far too much attention to its silliness.

These moves between minimalist restraint and maximalist enthusiasm result in an album with a bit of an identity crisis. Is it aiming for blissed-out trances or audacious disco energy? Is this a space disco of clean white surfaces or of lasers and ridiculous outfits? Luckily, for most of its duration, Where You Go I Go Too manages to assimilate the more enjoyable elements of both of these alternate possibilities into a seamless and engaging whole, with only a few moments of awkward uncertainty.

Lodged safely between Bright Eyes' "Digital Ash In A Digital Urn", And Khonnor, Canon Blue reaches cool in infinity, at a young age. I saw him at this years roskilde festival. Cool concert!

The Queers - Don't Back Down

Quote from: allmusic
It doesn't get any better than this. On Don't Back Down the rip-roaring punk songs with no melody ("No Tit," for instance) are more than counterbalanced by the many mind-blowingly catchy songs ("Punk Rock Girls," "Number One," "Janelle, Janelle," ad nauseam). Some of the songs, dare it be said, even surpass many of Brian Wilson's perfect pop songs. Whereas the Ben Weasel-fronted group the Riverdales aspire to be nothing more than Ramones imitators, the Queers successfully use the musical vocabularies developed by the Ramones (as well as Brian Wilson and others) and take their songs to new levels.

The issue, I think, was I thought the page the first one went to only had Liars on it, because the tracknames didn't tell us anything.  Also, don't forget to put all your links in code tags (since you can't click on them anyway).

Edit:  That link is the same as the Canon Blue one.

If you ever do get When Life Gives You Lemons, check out Sad Clown Bad Summer - Number 9 too, which I think is in this thread as well. I've ended up listening to that more than the LP.

another album i would recommend, in the same vein as Atmosphere, is Sean Likes Ugly Girls which is a four disc compilation of pretty much all Rhymesayers-signed artists.

Okay so here is Miniatures.

Matthew Robert Cooper - Miniatures

This is a pretty wonderful release. I'll simply quote what TheFuriousWombat wrote about this record in the top records of 2008 thread, since his description would probably be better than mine.

Guys, arguably the very best album of the year came out digitally (emusic and itunes I think) yesterday and will be out on vinyl very soon. It's Matthew Robert Cooper's "Miniatures." That name might not sound familiar to any of you. That's because he usually releases music under his moniker, Eluvium. That name might not sound familiar to you. If so, you probably don't like ingenious, beautiful, mesmerizing ambient brilliance. This new album consists of 9 relatively short tracks (it's only 33 minutes long) but each one is fantastic. Solo piano, sonorous organs, layers of fuzzy bliss, this release is an ambient fans dream come true. For real. Fans of Eluvium will definitely hear influences from the most recent Eluvium release, Copia, and from his earlier solo piano album but this really is something wholly new. He wrote these songs under his actual name because he saw this as something similar to, but separate from, what an Eluvium album should be. And it shows. This is something new and haunting and wonderful. Everyone should listen to this. It's nothing short of spectacular and it's probably my number one album thus far of 2008.

Also I would like to point out that the combination of Sailor Moon and faux-Kerouac / Sonic Youth spelling is perhaps the purest distillation of what this forum is that we have yet been presented with.

Holy shit, thank you.  This was  a friend of mine's favorite band back in high school.  I wasn't really into punk but I loved the hell out the Queers thanks to him.  I had completely forgot.  Thank you.

Oh, and for the more obvious "Fuck yes!" uploads on this page.  Thank you too.
