Zingoleb:
As for hair care, you can also wean yourself off of shampoo. I used to wash my hair every other day, but that waned down to 2 or 3 times a week (and at this point, I maybe wash my hair once a week). I could probably go no-poo and just stick to conditioning my hair, but I'm not ready to make the jump yet.

For what it's worth, I have curly-ish hair so the no shampoo thing works pretty well for me. It depends on your hair type, really.

Fluke:
I use ~1tsp baking soda to 1cup of water for my shampoo and have for 2 years now. Just slowly pour what I need on and work into my hair. Let it sit while I wash the rest of me then rinse it out. I skip conditioner because I go all greaseball no matter what if that stuff touches my head.

I did try to go more no-shampoo, but my super short, thick, straight hair was going to have nothing to do with that business.

In a pinch I've used Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap and it did the job just fine - smells and feels amazing to boot. Might be a bit drying to use long term, though. I know they make a specific line of haircare products you could look at.

Hum hum.. I use ph-neutral soap for everything. I īunno if thatīs good or bad but I cleanes my hair and leaves my skin in an okay state. Maybe a bit dryish, but thatīs due to the season, I guess.

Anyone use them styling-paste products? I use a sort of cheap one

but I was wondering wether an expensive one (like 20-30 bucks) would do better?
I use it because I have thin hair but it bothers me a bit and I like it floofier!

What is made out off? It is sort of a gel? I can't recall ever seeing any products around here as paste so I don't know what to compare it to.

I've learned styling wax is basically superior to all kinds of styling gels. While gels tend to make your hair hard and crispy I've found wax to be far more gentle and forgiving (correct me if anyone has found a gel that doesn't lead to crispy hair.) Great stuff, but I just use it sparingly to make my hair have more separation but I know folks who really go crazy making puffy hair.
