Hmm. I don't like a lot of what has been done, but if you say the parties are equivalent, you are either stupid or disingenuous. Deciding you want to sit out the process because "There's all these billionaires throwing influence around" is like saying you aren't going to the candy store because "There's all these fat kids". Billionaires have power and the will to accrue more. They also want to protect the power they have. All of this means they are going to insert themselves into the process and have a disproportionate amount of influence.
If you are looking for an excuse not to participate, I'm sure you can find one.
But the place is run by the folks that show up.
Some of the differences (for the really dense):
-The financial burdens of running the country borne by the elite or the middle class.
-An energy policy that skews towards more fossil fuels, or more efficiency and alternative energy
-A HUGE military with an interventionist, "boots on the ground" bent or a LARGE military that uses proxies and diplomacy
-Education bought a la carte, where you get the schools you buy, or education administered by the govt., one system for all.
If you can't find something thats important to you on that list, then you are part of the reason we have reptilian overlords and not a real democracy.
