worthy of note: the last section regarding my facial hair is thankfully (not to mention gloriously) outdated.

Weird, I don't seem to be on there. Which is bizarre cause I know for a fact I put myself on there, given that I referenced that in my QC forum rap.

that wasn't the forum, it was just the Quiki, which was actually a pretty useful guide for getting to know the basics of fellow forumites. if I had to pick one thing from the old days to reinstate, that'd be my choice.

This is why I'm confused, I was on there, and I know I was because I wrote it.

But then given that it's a Wiki, and as such editable by anyone, and that a lot of the loathsome pricks that used to inhabit this space didn't care for me very much I was probably just deleted by KharBevNor or some other shit.

I thought the entire quiki was deleted...? My page is gone too, which is for the best.

Also yeah I think a lot of people made their own, it wasn't a 'cool' thing. Liz made mine I think, because I complained about not having one.  :-P

Carl-E posted in the last 24 hours in a Comic thread, reminding us that he's alive and tracking the comic. He also responded to my earlier welfare check message, and asked that I post it:

"Hi.  Thanks for your concern!  I'm ... relatively fine.  A little depressed after not getting the online job I had blogged about, and  - well - I'm back to writing (I hate it) and just to get anything done I need to stay away from here.  It's too easy to avoid working.

There are a couple of things I'm applying for, we'll see what happens, but whatever does happen (more work or not) I'll probably not be coming back anytime soon.  Not because I don't want to - I do, I love it here, I love you guys - but I just can't afford the time anymore.

Say hi to everyone for me. "

Wow this thread is a great idea. I'm not sure when last I posted in here, and that's kinda bad, but life.

When I joined I was probably still a music snob, in and around college and junk. Stuff happened and I went away to culinary school, came back and did a lot of junk. Traveled the country (Jamaica, for those who don't know/remember), ate and cooked my way about the place, worked one hotel, left and bounced around and landed at Kingston's premier hotel with some interesting characters. I always knew I'd post here when I got my first tattoo, and 4 years or so later, it came to me... So here I am. Hi. =]

I also remember you, but more the avatar than the posts (or the person behind them).  It was early days for me, so I don't expect you'd remember me...

Speaking of re-introductions, was my absence long enough to warrant one?  I got sucked back in here unexpectedly.  Had really planned on giving up completely... or at least until I had more steady work.

Hi,

My name is Simon, I'm 27 and I live in Poland. I'm realy interested in all kinds of RPG and board games. Also if I have time I participate in Airsoft military simulations or Airsoft Larps in postapocalyptic theme.
I work in logistics (good job but I'm planning on opening Postapocalyptic theme pub in Warsaw in Poland somewhere in the future) and I'm at my last month studying Sociology at Koźmiński University. I'm writing my M.A. about webcomics so if someone want to help me I posted i Chatter a thread with link to my survey.

Couple of pointers for ya.
1: This is the wrong thread for new people to introduce themselves.  There's a whole board for it.  It's the one called "Hi, I'm new."
2: Usually, you introduce yourself before you ask complete strangers for help, not after.  And especially not after a mod calls you out for posting a link to a survey in your first ever post.

The mod doing the calling out did say to post an introduction. Admittedly, this is the wrong thread, but still - a bit harsh there?

At well under half my age, you've got a way to go before you can qualify for any of that.

Orkboy, some of the members of this community (pwhodges, for instance) have been here for a long time and we know each other very well. You are new here. That's fine - new people are welcome. But please don't make assumptions about others, such as assuming you know what their life experience is in comparison to yours.

Orkboy: There's a fine line between the witty guy who makes you chuckle every now and then and the guy who just comes off as belligerently abrasive.
Allow me to reintroduce myself, then.

My name is Richard.  By the age of 25, I had been shot at, stabbed, electrocuted, burned, blown up, and had to walk with a cane.  Belligerently abrasive is who I was.  Belligerently abrasive people were told to stop being me.  I could lie, and just pretend everything is sunshine and rainbows and unicorns, but that's unhealthy, and pretending to be what you aren't is a terrible way to live your life.  I'm less openly belligerent now that I stopped drinking so much and met an awesome girl, but I'm still fairly abrasive.  Like sandpaper that's only mostly worn out.

I like sandpaper that's mostly worn out.

It has soft spots, and is easier to work with.  Gets into the details better.

Did you... make a metaphor, Sir?

(try to imagine the emphasised part as if I had said "insult my dignity")
