My favourite "you'll be late to work again, suckers" announcement came on a dry, sunny Tuesday morning when I swear I heard over the tannoy that the delay was due to a lightning strike.

Last winter the school system had a 2-hour delay due to excessive cold. No snow, but it was 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

I was amused when I saw an email earlier today from the graduate college saying some event they were going to have tonight was cancelled because of "potential cold/windy conditions".

The rain gauge in my back yard indicates that we have had 3.4 inches of rain since Thursday evening.

From time to time (including during the storms last week) our public transport is disrupted by the wrong sort of waves.
