To get back to the original topic, I want to talk about something that I've noticed for a while now.
Has Jeph some relationship to Germany or German?
Probably I notice that so much because I'm German, but I've seen some comics which were titled with German phrases/words. With some of them the reason is obvious (e.g. two strips which refer to Ellen Allien:
Stadtkind and
Tschüss), but with some others I can't see why they are named that way. Recently there was
Auf Wiedersehen, then there is
Guten Abend, and another curious example is
this one. That one is interesting in particular, as it's listed as "Hilfe Mich" in the archive list. I'd interpret that in the way that Jeph originally called the strip "Hilfe Mich" (Help me, but completely wrong grammatically), somebody told him that it's wrong, and he changed the title to "Hilfe".
Another thing I noticed is that in
these strips Faye is obviously wearing a German soccer jersey. The logo on the chest is a variation of the German "Bundesadler", and around that it even reads "Deutscher Fussball-Bund". Comparison here:
