Platypodes:

--- Quote from: GarandMarine on 05 Jul 2013, 22:17 ---Sam's well past the age where she'd need/desire an extra parent in the full sense of the term most likely. So I don't think that's really a consideration. I have no doubt that Sam would appreciate another woman around besides our favorite staff of sassy baristas to get life advice from, and Veronica certainly isn't shy about giving advice when asked, but it wouldn't be "parenting" in the involved sense of raising your offspring for 18 or so years.

--- End quote ---

Jim struggles to keep Sam under control despite being a pretty firm, take-no-nonsense dad. I wonder if Veronica's dom voice would do the trick with her...

Nah, vanilla just means plain, ordinary, original, unmodified, basic, standard, and so on. Some people have a problem with that to different degrees for different reasons (I generally don't prefer the original version of any given food, Jeph gets bird tattoos, etc.), and it can get equated with boring or uninventive, but in general it is a neutral term.

The best vanilla ice cream I've ever had by a good distance is the Kirkland brand from Costco.

Vanilla ice cream is great!

The term "vanilla" as I know it refers to anything unmodified/plain/normal. When playing video games there is often a difference between people playing the game "vanilla" or playing a largely modified version.

Note that the introductory statement is only in reference to ice cream. I am not talking about anything else. I'll neither speak about, nor confirm or deny any preferences in other topics.

Loki:
That's okay ankh, we all know you are into smartphones :P

ankhtahr:
I knew this post was a mistake…
