I built my grandfather's computer, and I am by no means a computer expert. One of my proud moments.

I take the same approach to computer repair as I do to car repair. I know enough to do basic maintenance, but I still have to defer to experts occasionally (although much less often with computers)

Depends, if there was an actual fire someone's probably getting a commendation for quick thinking on the fire suppression system. If it was an actual human error... someone's dead. The individual in question will be reported UA and never found.

Sometimes shit happens. One of my buddies accidentally set off the fire extinguisher inside his tanks engine compartment after a strap on his gear snagged on the release handle. The ultimate end result was that tank drivers and gunners were no longer forced to wear their full body armor while inside their tank.
