in uni i used to just cut my housemates' hair whenever they needed to get rid of some hair, they didn't end up only leaving our house if they had a paper bag over their head with some eyeholes cut out so i think i did an okay job. i didn't let them cut my hair though because i am vain and i love my overpriced salon haircuts. especially when they buzz the back. man that's really nice.
alternately, make a friend who owns a pair of scissors. or move here and be my friend, i miss having friends.

I cut my own hair and cut my boyfriend's hair. My boyfriend goes to court and does important Grown-up Things with the haircuts I give him, and my hair is pretty rad. So!
But my mom sat me down and taught me how so maybe therein lies the difference.

The trick is to befriend someone who is a professional. Or befriend a professional's brother. Or have a friend who's sister becomes a professional(that's what I did).
But I still look like a tool, even with a great haircut.
