I don't know if you can tell, but Maryland licenses have the little red heart, which looking at the license, is really detailed for such a tiny image. it looks all 3D and whatnot.

Also the person didn't tell me to not smile, he just basically lined it up and took the image without warning me. I'm lucky I guess considering what faces I could've been making while waiting in the Westminster MVA office at 8:30 in the morning.

I have two licences. In this photo you can see 3 different hair colors. From super fresh to super faded!

The top one is my "Real ID compliant Enhanced ID" which lets me cross the Canadian or Mexican borders on land without a passport. I got it so I could go see lady Allison. It has a heart to indicate that I am an organ donor, the other one has nothing, I don't know if I forgot to check that box or if they just started with that.

My Arizona drivers license expired in 2054. I am pretty sad I had to give that up to get a New York one. I do not have an adequate camera to take pictures of it where you can see things though.

See, here in NY they figure they can squeeze some extra money out of you every 8 years. It's not like you have to re-take the test to get a new one, just pay $50.

Kudos, on UK drivers license you seem to have the choice of looking like someone's inbred cousin or a wanted criminal. Always better to go for hardened lag. If I saw that picture on Crimwatch I'd definitely reckon you were good for a bit of B&E or putting up Post Offices.

Conversely the bus pass looks so innocent I wonder if you have a double life as a masked avenger, bearing down on scally's from the hallowed spires of Oxford.

My new VA license has a HOLOGRAM OF MY FACE. If you look at it from the front or the back it shows my face, but you can look right through it. Craziness.
It's hard to see in the picture, but it also has lots of designs in very light peach/purple shades, like the new US money.

I miss my MD license with the blue crab on it:(

The text on the Norwegian licenses (EEA model, apparently) sucks, so the webcam couldn't capture it properly. They're pink and among other things, has tiiiny (less than half a millimeter tall) lyrics to an old Norwegian poem/song etched into them (link to macro photo trying to capture parts of it). I don't particularly like my photo and my signature looks like it was written by a four year old (although I think I wrote my name better whan I was four, once I learned to not write it backwards), so I never use it as ID unless it's specifically asked for. But! The S in "B M S" stands for snow mobile. Fuck yeah. My brothers don't have that.

(Yes, I know I edited out my name and then not my signature. Whatever.)

Criminals can use it to get other info about you including copies of your birth certificate depending on where you were born. There are also ways of getting your social security number via a driver's license number. They can also use it to make fake diver's license with a real number. (Whenever you sell stuff at a pawn shop they generally want a drivers license on hand in case something is stolen so people like having copies of licenses with real numbers for that.)

It's one of the basic stepping stones for identity theft. Over all you can't actually do anything with that number alone but it's never a good idea to let the thing loose in cyberspace.

When I get my accom ID I'll show you the photo on it which I believe is the worst photo ever taken of anybody ever. Not only do I somehow look like I've got a double chin in it, I also look like some kind of terrifying sex predator.
