So we got up 8/13 @ 2am, drove straight through to Queens NY (from Charlotte NC) played a show at 8pm in Manahattan; and another at 1:30am in Brooklyn, kept on drinking. Got back to the Hotel at 4am or some shi*t.

I try to cover up, even at the beach. (Short sleeve wetsuit + trunks usually does me good) I can't tan at all. I just burn like the witch I am.

Andy, we wear the same underwear apparently.

Also, that kind of burn would leave me paralyzed with itchiness. I've encountered it twice in my life: once when I was 12, once a couple of years ago- when suddenly then entire length of my back begins to itch and not just surface itching, but a real, deep clawing itch that feels like insects are burrowing into my muscle. Naturally I can't scratch as that creates an intense pain but I can't take it either. I'm generally reduced to sobbing screams into a pillow until it goes away.

In May when I went to give blood they told me I couldn't have a free shirt because they were for while blood donors only. I was sad. They made it up to me the next time though.

I went down to LA to visit family last week, and the friends I grew up with kept telling me I looked "like a teacher."

I kind of laughed it off, but I took the photo above yesterday for a directory of grad students, and then also ran across this photo from when I was fourteen. I've reached two conclusions: (1) maybe I do look a little like a teacher, and (2) thank God I wasn't fourteen forever.
