Hi you guys, I haven't been around in a while because I've been super busy. I'm still super busy actually (nothing like frantically polishing
a show that's already opened) but I just got home from a trip to Spain so I have pictures.
I was invited to give a lecture at a digital art conference in Bilbao. The travel guide I read was apologetic about Bilbao not being a beautiful city, so I was kind of expecting to find myself in the midst of an industrial hellhole.
Apparently the author of that guide was employing a strategy of making sure you're pleased with your trip by lowering your expectations.

I'm not sure why I chose a picture with the Guggenheim museum barely visible in the distance, I might switch this picture with a different one.

Okay to be fair this one isn't Bilbao, but San Sebastian is only the next town over.

I'm not sure which I'm more amazed by: the audacity of the city council in Bilbao choosing to plant grass on their subway tracks, or the fact that said grass is in tip-top shape.

I will never stop giggling about how buses in Bilbao are like riding giant ladybugs!

EDIT:
To balance out these pretty pictures I wish I had taken a picture of my expression upon realizing that restaurants there close at 3 and re-open at 9. The entire time I was there I only ate one normal meal and subsisted on pastries the rest of the time.
