Also (IMHO) all of the music venues in Columbia SC appear to be stuck so far up their own asses that they only vaguely recognize what it was like before butt tunneling.

I've only played one venue in Columbia, and it sucked pretty hard as far as the audience went. The Flying Saucer. Good beer, but I was driving back to Charleston both nights I played there, so I didn't get to try much of it.

Charleston, on the other hand, is probably my favorite city in South Carolina.

Just found this one in a friend's Burning Man album. The dragon was pedal-powered by a crew of 4 and its neck was fully articulated, such that it could look up, down, left, and right, and open or close its jaws. I don't believe there was any electronics involved. It was seriously one of the coolest fucking things I've ever seen.

Unfortunately, Clemson is populated partly with people who go to Clemson, and that makes it worse than pretty much everything.

I grew up in South Florida. I hate everyone on vacation. I worked on the "strip" in Ft Lauderdale (weekends midnight - 8am) when I was in High School. I went to college prepared to have to kill some people. Turned out most of the time they only needed a savage beating, and were cool once or twice.

Charleston has its number of terrible people on vacation, but it helped that they paid my bills and kept the amazing restaurant industry in Charleston afloat. I totally ran out of work in the winter, whereas I would be working at least three gigs a week in the summer. I still hated Clemson people.

Also: I like the difference in the two of your stage presences. It reminds me of a joke, read at your own risk:

This band is playing a rocking gig. The place is packed and they notice a couple of A&R guys really getting into the music. The singer is thinking, "Man, I'm going to have so many women." It was my 21st birthday on Sunday. So I had a big party at my apartment on Saturday/into Sunday. It was a lot of fun! This is the only picture of that night, however.

My step-brother bought me a shot glass from his college, and my best friend bought me 1.75L of Jack Daniels. YAY.
