By military style pants do you mean cargo pants or anything that are baggy with big pockets? Because if so I am vetoing that.

Lines:
I second darker pants with no fading in bootcut. Darker pants help slim you down and bootcut is flattering on most body types. I highly suggest dark wash jeans (no fading shit), black jeans, and darker trousers in twill, cordory, or khaki/chino, like black, navy, brown, or olive. (Chinos are awesome and can usually be dressed up or down depending on the style/cut, so I highly recommend those.)
