I don't understand how picking out sunglasses is supposed to be hard. I use more or less the same guidelines I use when picking out regular glasses (I wear contacts often) except I acknowledge that they'll often be going with a pretty casual outfit and can be a bit larger than I would accept from my normal glasses. Even then I favor subdued metal or rimless frames because if it's bright as hell out and I'm wearing something business casual or higher I can wear them from my car to my destination without looking like a complete tool.

I have not yet been arrested for being outside without a guitar.

I'll bring a guitar to Jon & Rachel's wedding if you want to work on that.

Even when they aren't candy-colored they're still fug ugly

When it comes to fashion, this board is kinda funny. When it's something people want to defend, it's pictures of Steve McQueen. When it's something people don't like, it's pictures of a 64 year old man known for his goofy eyewear. Personally, I do much prefer the ones with frames, but there's still rimless and semi-rimless that are acceptable. I've had the same persol sunglasses for forever now and I doubt I'll swap 'em any time soon and while they're rimmed it's not a particularly dramatic rim, so it's hard for me to sit here and say that the presence of rims will always make or break a pair of glasses. For example, I've seen some really nice semi-rimless aviators before.

Soon as I dig out my travel bag since they should be in there. It has actually been snowing the last few days, so I haven't exactly had much call for sunglasses.

What should I wear for my interview next week?

Option 1
Option 2
Option 3

Also, new shoeses!

Additional info: I also have a shortsleeve white shirt, a purple shirt, a black and grey check shirt, and a jacket to match the grey trousers, as well as a variety of ties. It's an interview for manager at a trendy bar and it's pretty warm at the moment, so I'll probably just go with shirt and trousers. I think I can pull off formal, but I prefer not to.

That's not a short-sleeve! The sleeves are just really tight when I roll them up. I looks pretty decent with the sleeves down too. The black ones are just standard work trousers, really, I also have a couple of black work shirts.

Definitely not-black trousers. I think the light shirt looks nicer on you, a little bit more comfortable and casual, whereas the dark one seems a bit more brisk and efficient, maybe? I would go light trousers and dark shirt, I think, because it just looks a little bit sharper on the edges, so to speak.

This made me think: If you're wearing formal trousers/jeans, is it ever acceptable form them to be a lighter colour than your top?

I like the shirt/pants color combo in #1, but I have trouble with the black pants + brown shoes, spiffy as they may be. If you're set on those shoes, I vote for #3. The pieces in #2 are a little too close together in tone, it comes out a bit monochromatic.

I think you should go for some darker colours. Perhaps through a few cool chains in there to let them know you mean business. You might also want to wear a rad jacket so that you look like you're from the future.

These are just suggestions, you could also go for something completely different!

I put on just enough weight to make my pants tight and now they're all torn up and shit. So I went to look for new pants, but I haven't bought pants since I was in high school, and so I'm wondering: Where do I buy pants? I went looking at all of the places I shopped for pants in high school (lame places like Pac Sun and shit) and I'm too much of a fatty to fit into size 38 waist anymore, which is the cutoff where most stores seem to stop selling pants. Where do I buy some damn pants without getting ones that extenuate how much lard I've stuffed underneath my skin, and also without looking like a lame fool?

According to my parents, lots of places (like retail) prefer you look a little monochromatic for your job! My uniform at the craft store I worked at was khaki trousers and white shirts with white trainers, and all black at the food service places. Maybe this opinion is kind of old-fashioned now? but the justification has to do with how you look at a glance, and maybe something to do with potential colour-blindness, and the fact that the contrast between polar opposite colours attracts a lot of attention.

Every food place and liquor place I have worked that didn't have a uniform shirt required all-black clothing, head to toe. One time I was all out of black shirts and I wore a dark grey shirt and my manager did not say anything but gave me the eyeball.

Yah but it's not even all black like it was on purpose, it's just hi i am boring and bland and wear only middle tone tans and grays and may speak in monotone run-on sentences. Even if the uniform will be something boring, I think it's better to be a little bit interesting for the interview, to reinforce the idea that you have a smart and competent personality that they won't hate working with.
